Tips for PetSmart

Beware of Petshotel Revervation Problems. We made a reservation earlier this month to board our cat for a thirteen night stay during the upcoming Christmas holiday. Completing the reservation over the phone, we were asked to confirm contact information and update our pet's vaccination records. We received a written confirmation (e-mail) of our reservation three days after the reservation was made.

A week later we received a voice-mail message from the Petshotel asking us to call them. Our return call was unanswered. We left a phone number and request for a call back. Petsmart failed to return the call. When we called again the next day, the call was again unanswered and our call was not returned. On our third call this morning we reached an employee.

We were told that the store would not honor our reservation because they had overbooked their services. The explanation we were provided is that their reservation system allows them to book services even if the services are not available. It seems unlikely but the lesson is a serious one: If your travel plans require pet care the reservation process at Petsmart is seriously flawed. By delaying notice of their error (or more likely booking of a more lucrative/longer staying customer) they jeopardized our plans. As it is we are now boarding our pet 30 miles from home because - apropos of the season - there is no room at the inn anywhere closer.

BOYCOTT PETSMART. I have been a weekly shopper of PetSmart since it opened here in Bellevue. After today I will no longer shop there. I accidently locked my dog in the car, and the manager refused to allow anyone to help me. All I needed was someone with real skinny arms to unlock the door, but she would not allow anyone to try, when one young man offered I heard them get in a heated discussion. When I needed water for my dog, while waiting for a locksmith (which never showed), they wanted to discuss what water to give her, and they were going to charge me for it..my dog was out there in a black car, in the sun, and for a company that prides itself on animal..they were going to just watch her go into heat stroke and die...the vet dept did not even help. Thankfully some young adults came to my aide, and the young woman slipped her arm in, and popped the lock....I cannot believe that company, and that snot they hired for a manager....if I ran the company she would be gone. Never again. Oh and by the way, and wanted to give this hell of a place zero stars but the site would not allow it. I agree with Foldit....better to avoid this place at atll costs...they do not care about your animals (PS. I heard the groomers yelling at dogs to shut up, so there ya go....shop, groom, and board at your own risks, but if you love your dog AVOID).

Avoid PetsHotel. I don't usually write reviews but wanted to in this case so others don't have the same experience. If I could give this 0 stars I would. The regular Petsmart is great, but the PetsHotel is a nightmare. Avoid at all costs if you like your dog.
