Seattle has long been rich in Asian cuisines such as Thai, Korean and Vietnamese, but Japanese food has been slow to take root. Being obsessed with Japanese culture and cuisine, we wanted to help change this. At boom, we offer fresh ingredients, and recipes that are authentically Japanese or inspired by trends that we have noticed during our travels and dining in Tokyo. From hot soup and noodles, to items prepared on the wok, to chilled noodle dishes, to a variety of small plates, we hope we have created a healthy range of options for everyone. Redeemed themselves!

We went there on a weekend night and I was seated right away. As I waited for my date, I was asked twice if I needed anything, service was WONDERFUL until my date came and we literally waited for ANY server for 30-45 minutes even after I asked another server to find ours (I asked nice and they guy looked at me as if I was being a jerk). They were COMPLETELY understaffed, the staff was so stressed out! We would have left but we really wanted udon and had wait for so long already. A hostess finally came over and took our order. Our food came out FAST and it was a pleasant suprise to find everything was comped including drinks and both meals without us asking. Service was SUPERB after our order was taken and they apologized and asked us to please come back. Went from FAIL to major WIN!
- Pros: Love Udon wether or not it's authentic, Love it anyway!
- Cons: They need to hire more people

Boom Noodle in Belleveu Square

After its grand opening in Bellevue, we tried their food once. Several of our ordered items were just too salty, including ramen. We had to ask waitress to bring them back to the kitchen to remake it. It was such a disappointment to us that their food not only was non-authentic at all, being an Asian myself, it's wayyyyy too salty to even take a sip of their ramen soup. We had really high expectation of Boom Noodle since it's now the only restaurant that serves ramen on the Eastside. After this dinning experience, I've decided that it's worthwhile crossing the bridge to eat ramen at Samurai, which is next to the Uwajimaya supermarket. They have much better ramen over there.
- Pros: Nice dinning interior
- Cons: Things are just too salty
