Power lunches and special occasions are what built their reputation but I go for the remarkably well-priced happy hour. Order the bacon truffle deviled eggs, a burger or the steak frites. You can thank me later.

The place epitomizes the power lunch and special occasion hangout. The steaks are perfectly executed, the service is attentive, and the warm, masculine steakhouse ambiance is relaxing enough that you'll likely splurge on that big ticket bottle of wine and be happy that you did. You've been warned.

Good food & Service.. I went there with my friend who had purchased a groupon. We sat in the bar and ordered off the dinner menu and a couple appetizers. The wine list was impressive and I appreciated that they offered a choice of a 4oz or 8oz pour.

The prices are a bit high but the portions and the quaility made it worth the price.

We had the Iceberg salad to start with and we split it between us. The salad was a nice portion even when split. We enjoyed the deviled eggs, the lobster mashed potatoes, the almond crusted scallops, the spicy shrimp and the tuna. We found all the dished well prepared and the portions on the large side.

The service was great. Attentive but not overwhelming.

I would return for a special event, otherwise a liitle pricey.

Overpriced. We went there Sat night with another couple. The ambiance is average. The waiter was attentive, but not overly helpful. The steak was very good. My wife's halibut was over-cooked. The veggies were also over-cooked and my mushroom side was way too salty. Overall, it's a nice restraurant, but it is WAY overpriced, especially the wine! I've had better meals at Jaks for half the price. Seriously.

Love John Howie Steak(s). Love this place! Great Bellevue restaurant all around. Best steaks in the city, bar none, maybe better than The Met. Nice cocktails, huge wine list, and just a good all around dining experience. I'd change the bun on the burger. Too big and fancy. Other than that..tops!

Best Food on the Eastside or Maybe in all of Seattle. I found out about this place from the people who found my condo for me (SeattleApartmentFinders) and they were right. We've been looking all over Seattle for a great steak and I think we've found it at this restaurant. They have all of the different grades and types of beef but the Wagyu is really something. The rest of the menu is also good. Try the deviled eggs or tenderloin bits to start. Also really like the seafood chowder and the house-baked breads are incredible. Have eaten here several times and continue to go back. Service tends to be slow, even for lunch, so I had to tell them to get a move on. But we have decided this is our favorite place. Look out Texas--there's a challenge here for a good steak!

Worst Steak and lamb chops in town. On wednesday feburary 24th, my boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our four year Anniversary, so we picked John Howie Steak house. We were both so looking forward to our evening. We ended up sitting in the bar and ordered from the full dinner menu. My boyfriend ended up getting the 42 day aged Ny steak and I ended up getting the Lamb chops. Ny steak was very plain and tasteless. I was beyond disappointed in my lamb chops, it came with Veggies and they were not cooked ... Drinks took to long and service was not impresive at all.
