Amazing indoor AND outdoor drinks and eats. I just spent a super cold evening outside on the covered deck, thanks to outdoor heaters and a fireplace. What a bonus during our winter months! The service is good, the menu has yet to let me down...I have tried almost everything so far! Just what the ballard crowd ordered!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Some people may be satisfied with the standard sports bar atmosphere and bland pub food, but for the discerning Seattleite, there's Shelter Lounge, a Ballard bar and restaurant that defies easy categorization. On the one hand, the cozy, fire-warmed venue is very much a bar, with two tiers of seating facing the flat-screen TVs and a gorgeous outdoor drinking space that's both heated and covered. On the other hand, the food available--innovative appetizers like jalapeno poppers stuffed with peanut butter and full dinner plates like slow-roasted pork with sides--goes beyond the burgers and fries normally classified as bar food. Bar or restaurant? Doesn't matter--they're doing both well.
