AWESOME food NOT AWESOME customer relations.
I have been going to Obasan at least once a week since it opened. It was a treasure when it opened: the prices were great, the help was fantastic, and the food was INCREDIBLE. Lately the service has been very slow, the food just as amazing but the level of customer care is very low. The prices have been raised twice in the last two months making the food rather expensive, they've taken away the secret $1 spicy tuna hand-rolls that made up for the price raises for me, I considered it a reward for being loyal and knowing about them. Here's the bit that really ticked me off: They signed up with livingsocial for a daily deal. I was so excited I bought my limit and referred everyone I knew to the sight to get in on the good deal. I got an email from livingsocial saying that obasan wouldn't honor the coupons and I was getting a refund. It is just one small thing after another at obasan and so I'm heading one short bus trip away to Umi or Wann now when the sushi craving hits. Sorry Obasan but your customer relations suck.
