Glad I had a Groupon. We were in Seattle yesterday so I decided to use my Groupon I had bought a while back for six cupcakes. I had to pay an extra $1.50 because three of them were $3.50 instead of $3, which I thought was ridiculous. They looked beautiful, but the cake was extremely dry. The frosting was good on most, but the cream cheese frosting on the red velvet cupcakes had a very strong lemon taste, and the crunchy sugar sprinkled on top of the coconut cupcake was not a welcome addition. The shop itself was very cute and welcoming, but they should focus more on delivering a top quality product. I can make better cupcakes at home.

Free cupcake on my daughters birth.. My son and I went into get cupcakes for the wife in celebration of his new sister. They gave my wife and daughter(1 day old) two free cupcakes.

Very kid friendly, and awesome treats.

Great cakes & coffee. I have had the pleasure of enjoying Wink cupcakes a few times since they opened in January.

I by no means have the cake "pallet" to decipher what makes one cupcake better than another, I just know I had Wink's and my taste buds were happy.

In addition to that when I went into their very cute shop in Queen Anne, I was greeted by the friendliest guy. He simply had a passion for being happy and upbeat. I love that.

While in there, the gal making the cupcakes was also experimenting with some mini scones. She let me try one, and I wasn't disappointed with that creation either.

Lastly, I ordered a latte in addition to my cupcakes, and again, I can say it was delish.

I have read some mixed reviews in different places on these guys, but not sure why. Overall, considering they are the only cupcake place I am aware of in Queen Anne and just opened 6 months ago, I find nothing but positive things to say about them.

Ok, but no Trophy. The German Chocolate icing was fabulous, the cake part - not so much. It was so dry it was hard to swallow. I took off the top and threw away the rest of the bottom.

The Peanut Butter cake was not as dry as the chocolate cake. It envoked the flavor of a good PB cookie. The PB buttercream was decent on flavor but seemed a bit greasy.

I like that Wink has a small, regular and large cupcake. Nice to have that variation for just a bite of cupcake or one the size of a softball. :)

Samples were on the counter!

Overall, I probably won't be going back. For the same price, I could get a Trophy cupcake with better ingredients, taste and charm.

Did someone say Guinness cupcake??. Oh my gosh! When I first heard that there was a Guinness cupcake I was intrigued, but I was also slightly apprehensive...I mean really, a cupcake with beer as one of the ingredients?

Well, I can tell you now after enjoying one of these delectable treasures, that they are scrumptious! The flavor is a moist rich chocolate with what tastes like a hint of malted espresso. Top that off with a light and airy buttercream frosting and well...is mouthgasm a word? Yummy!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Like pulling back the curtain and finding the ordinary man behind the Wizard, it's sometimes better to not know what goes on behind the scene. Not so, at this delightful Queen Anne cupcakery, where patrons can sit at one of just a few counter spots and watch the skilled bakers pull miniature cakes from the ovens, then top with a mound of frosting and dusting of sugar. Watching the care paid to each sweet makes the experience of biting into one--not just the usual flavors but intriguing options like hazelnut, peanut butter or Guinness with buttercream--all the better.

Enjoying cupcakes with a Wink and a smile.... Is it just me... or does the mere utterance of the word "cupcake" these days elicit a strong reaction from folks -- either you love 'em or hate 'em.

Which ever camp you're in, admit it... if someone hands you a cupcake you'd think twice before turning it down. The cupcake craze is out of control, but ever stop and ponder why they've become so popular? I'm no fanatic, but even I cannot underestimate the uplifting power of these handheld, frosted delights.

Even though Wink has been open in my hood for a few weeks now, I hadn't had a chance to drop by -- nor could I really place it. Maybe I should take more strolls down the Ave. but I drove by 3x yesterday before spotting it.

Wink offers the expected host of gourmet cupcake flavors (in standard and mini sizes) and throws in ice cream and espresso for good measure -- you pick your poison, or combination thereof. Their cupcakes are impressively moist and the frosting is light -- besting the likes of Yellow Leaf and Royale. The store sign is harder to spot while driving and the inside layout is a bit squished. Keep in mind a baker's dozen minis will set you back $15, and the standard size dozen is $36. So far, my faves include: Carrot Cake and Coconut.

U-turns and checking account hit aside... The visit to Wink was was worth it ... yesterday, the dozen+ cupcakes were an instant, uplifting hit for a few friends in much need of a wink and a smile.
