Unicorn

All the fun of a circus without the smell of elephant poo. Fun drinks, carny food and serious eye candy interior!

Show up before 6:30 p.m. for the daily happy hour. Order a corn dog, the Narwhal Balls (fried potato, swiss cheese and caraway with harissa mayonnaise), a PBR tallboy and use your change from the tenner for a game of pinball.

Carnival For Adults (Fried Food on a Stick Plus Booze). Imagine the anti-thesis of your typical "Seattle" bar. Think bright contrasting colors, stripes, sparkles and all things that glitter. The Unicorn is pretty much your childhood packed into a bar. The menu is laden with fried food including Unicorn Balls (served with special sauce), popcorn on a stick, corn dogs (veggie too) and a few other treats. My favorite item was the fried cornichons- perfectly crisp served with a tangy dill sauce. Expect surprises. And grease. Diets are abolished at the Unicorn.

The drink menu of course keeps with the theme. I imagine the Unicorn being popular with late night crowds. Pick a few songs on the jukebox, sing along, really it's ok. The Unicorn is also large so well suited for big groups.

Welcome to the carnival. If you're tired of the usual bar food and well drinks, Unicorn offers a delightful carnival inspired alternative. Perfect for those who have fallen off the diet wagon, the venue offers array of greasy options including corndogs (huge!), unicorn balls (you'll have to try them to see), and elephant ears. The decor lacks the inspiration the menu theme supplies, but still offers a comfortable atmosphere of booths and bar stools. When walking up Pike, keep your eyes open or you just might miss it.

Food on a shtick. You heard right. Shtick. From the decor to the food. Colorful circus decor beckons the patron from even outside, and continues inward, with striped walls, popcorn on a stick, gourmet corn dogs, and their signature drink, the Unicorn Jizz. If you're craving salt, try the deep fried cornichon pickles or Unicorn Balls. Hungry and bold? Their corn dog topped with gruyere cheese and a perfectly cooked egg, sunny side up, can chase away any hunger pangs or soak up your late night bar binge. Bring your friends for a comic experience, but don't invite anyone with coulrophobia...

the best unicorn balls ever!. Ok so I am in love love love with the unicorn balls. I want to go back just to have some more. You cannot get unicorn balls anywhere that taste like this. Well actually you probably can't get unicorn balls anywhere else.

Some of the decor was cool (the bar, the bathroom, the bathroom door, the jukebox, etc), but some of it was just scary. It reminded me of clowns, and apparently clowns & circus stuff kind of scares me.

It was unique enough that I took loads of pics of this place.

And almost all the food items we tried were scrumptous!

Bright and colorful and oh so fun.. This is definetely a huge improvement over the former bar at this location. I was instantely attracted to the colorful window decorations and knew this was a place I had to check out. And I became even more intrigued when I checked out the website to find the menu and realized that all I could do was cornify (apparently this means millions of little unicorns in all shapes and sizes will take over your computer screen) and learn nothing about the bar. The inside of the bar is equally as colorful and the menu is also super entertaining. Who would not love stuffing their face with unicorn balls and drinking it down with unicorn jizz. This provided me hours of entertainment and I didn't even eat any. They also have corn dogs and other fair type food such as carmel corn on a stick. Good place to take friends who are looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

Carnie food without the Carnies!. Monday marked my first and definitely not last visit to the Unicorn for a group outing. It's hard to think of a way to describe this place other than to just come out and say it: FOOD ON A STICK!

Menu items such as Unicorn balls, Unicorn Jizz (cocktail) and corndog madame (yes, this is what you think it is) provide much food for banter as well as for your gluttonous tummy.

Any locale with a mystical one-horned beast as it's theme gets a thumbs up from me. Will most definitely be back.

And if you click on the big unicorn on their website, all kinds of other sparkly, flashing pictures of unicorns pop up, which like, totally entertained me at work today for like 5 minutes...score!

Unicorns FTW!
