Tips for Pour House

Citysearch Editorial Review. With a wide selection of beers and good food to match, the Pour House offers welfare assistance to a sadly bar-and-lounge-impoverished area of Green Lake. The Pour House bailout plan begins with offerings that range from a trio of sliders to four cheese macaroni and Dungeness crab spring rolls that ought to keep even the most vigilant foodies from trekking out to Belltown for good eats. It continues bringing up the Green Lake standard of drinking by providing a wide selection of beers and a bevy of specialty cocktails. Add to this a cozy, candle-lit, exposed brick wall interior and sleek modern furnishings and you’ve got a public service plan that everybody can get behind.

Tangletown bar offers bites and booze in a sleek setting. The polished decor, vast windows and high ceilings at the Pour House make it hard to believe it's the former home of the tiki-licious Luau Polynesian Lounge. Now this Tangletown spot has the vibe of a sleek lounge crossed with a neighborhood bar, serving shared plates and an expansive drink menu.

The scene is dominated by locals from Upper Wallingford and Greenlake, which means a mix of empty nesters in their 50s on date night and recent UW grads meeting up to catch the game at the bar. The ample $5 happy hour menu is a good bet for early or late eating, though the shared plates are surprisingly substantial anytime. Top picks are the grilled cheese with manchego cheese and pancetta, served with spicy tomato soup for dipping, a well-executed 4-cheese mac, and a zingy red pepper and portabello salad with herb dressing.

The servers are as stunning as the setting - the majority are perky, shapely blondes clad in head-to-toe black. But they're welcoming and attentive, and the bustle on Friday nights suggests that the Pour House is already a neighborhood favorite.

Yummy, coupled with a dose of FUN. If the velvet Elvis and painting of a half naked hula girl makes you smile then you will love this campy, fun tribute to Polynesian style kitsch combined with stiff drinks and a cool 30 something crowd. This is one of the first restaurants that I ever went to with a group in Seattle, 10 years ago. I will always remember that night as my first one as a stranger in town where I had amazing fun and bonding with my newfound friends. Mai Tais to share with long, fun straws served out of coconuts. Campy fun. Yummy pu pu platters to share.

I have to say that the Bora-Bora room is Bora-boring, so stay in the main seating or bar areas for better ambiance and people watching.

Now-a-days, I come here for the nostalgia and the super amazing spinach salad with duck confit and goat cheese wheel. Yummy personified. Coupled with a blue hawaiin martini or a shared mai tai, your night is fun, delicious and, like a hint of vacation at home.

THEY RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We were there celebrating a friend of a friends birthday. They rented the big room in the back. I was the "DD" and ordered some drinks for the birthday boy. When I was getting my bill, they added an additional drink on my tab. I asked about it and they said they did not make a mistake... as they were doing shots with another customer. I was not drinking and sober. Screw them. In addition to that, I received another payment on my card two weeks after the fact. That's when I decided to post this review. I have the receipt, too! Since they added an extra drink, I left a cash tip of just a couple of bucks. Apparently they think its their right to get a tip. I'm angry and already notified the b e t t e r b u s i n e s s b u r e a u. I'm NEVER going there again. I guess that's what you get for being the DD. @#$%@%@ %@$holes!!!

Will exceed your expectations!. This was the opening act. Reserved the Bora Bora Room for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner; ordered the Ahi sesame sticks, tropical chicken, fried rice, shrimp salad, beef ribs and topped it off with the Mai Tai splash and Coronitas. What a phenomenal spread of food...tasty, plentiful, well presented. So glad we had some leftovers. Jessica, we will definitely be back in touch. Can't wait to introduce this fine restaurant to others. DRios.

Great for kids!. Hurray for the Luau!

I had not been to the Luau in years and I am happy to report that it is better then ever! The original owners are back and while it?s still a rowdy bar it?s a great place to bring the whole family. Kids are welcome and my 3 boy and they had a great time. The staff is friendly and the food is great and easy on my wallet. I can?t wait to go back!

A playful take on South Pacific cuisine.. In Short
Polynesian ambience with a neighborhood sensibility: This cozy space still manages room for a bar, replete with a thatched-roof lounge where folks quench their thirst with the funky Hawaiian-themed cocktails. The usual assortment of mai tais, pina coladas and other fruity concoctions are well represented, and the menu includes a large selection of pupu platters, flaming desserts and entrees like sesame- and plum-crusted ahi and jerk chicken.

Good for happy hour. Happy hour here last something like 5 hours and is good for tropical-esque drinks and cheap pupus (fried food). I come here in the late afternoon with friends when we feel like getting sort of sloshed, especially on weekends, or when the grey Seattle days are getting me down. It's nothing spectacular, and pretty much exactly what you expect, so go with that in mind and you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for bring the King back.... I have got to give a "HUGE" thank you Mr. Price for bring Tino Casanova back! This is to all the people of Seattle and all of the beverage connoisseurs like myself, Tino is the man, however you will be confused by the frenzy of all of the ladies lined up at the bar now if you can wade through the heartthrobs, Tino will treat you like family. Please call to find out his schedule for I can never figure out when he works. I think he was trained by Mer the blur. Trust me he got it!
