Great Food-Awesome Atmosphere.
Went here for my birthday after doing a ton of research and was amazed. Guac is very tasty, my group got a variety of tequila and was very impressed with the setup and flavors. Have been back for
their happy hour. Pork sliders are super yummy. Went there during the summer so they have this retractible wall, very chic because you're inside but feel like you're outside.
Have heard rave reviews about their brunch and will definately try again.
It can be a bit loud on a weekend is the only con I can think of, but that seems to be quite a standard for a weekend.…
Darn great beans!.
Decided to check this place out on a Friday around 6PM. It was a nice day, so many folks were in the front patio area and at the tables next to the windows. We made do with a table closer to the
kitchen.
First up, the guacamole. Wonderful flavor, nice little bits of chunk in there, yet creamy. However, with three of us we needed two orders of guac and at $8 a pop that's not cheap. Next, we tried the Ahi Tuna Crudo (avocado, orange, tamarind and sesame seeds with plantain chips). Good, but nothing about the dish really called out to the taste buds. I enjoyed the plantain chips plain, though. With all the clean, fresh ingredients in this dish I expected more flavor to shine through.
My main course was the Wild King Salmon tacos (pineapple-cucumber salsa, crema and cilantro). Three small corn tortillas were the base for the nicely cooked salmon, plus cabbage, salsa and crema. The sweet of the pineapple complemented the savory of the salmon perfectly. And the portion was great - there were three tacos but they weren't huge. The surprise of the evening came from the side-dish of Frijoles Charros (bacon, onion and chorizo). Generally, I will ignore any beans (I tend to overlook the beans and rice normally served as sides) and focus on the main course. However, I took a bite of the frijoles out of curiosity and darned if I didn't completely polish them off! They had a savory, smoky flavor that was sublime.
As an aside, I am a sangria snob as I have a friend who makes an amazing sangria. Barrio's sangria didn't pass my benchmark and was just okay.…
Great happy hour, ambiance, specialty cocktails.
From the owners of Purple Cafe & Wine Bar comes a mexican influenced restaurant on Capitol hill. Lit with candles, the wood design of this restaurant creates a feeling of cozy dining and city modern
elegance. I personally love their rounded booths that make you feel like you've found a special pocket of the world that is all your own. At least for an hour!
We love the tacos here - featured on their happy hour menu as well as their guacamole dip. The cocktails are mexican influenced and the wine list is fantastic. Great attention from staff, too. I've been to Barrio at least two dozen times and look forward to the next two dozen.…
Go Hungry, Go Broke.
When I say expensive, I mean over priced. I ordered 3 tacos thinking 3 tacos for 12 bucks... that should fill me up. These little ass tacos were a lot smaller than what one would expect for the
price. Sure.. I know tacos off the truck, or any other authentic Mexi restaurant are the same size, but they are a buck.
I had to buy an other order and I still left a tiny bit hungry. i also ate some crappy chip things and had some weak drinks. I went to Dicks an hour later :) ...No I'm not fat.…
service in bellevue needs help. THe new restaurant recently opened up in Bellevue. We had a really unprofessional experience with the manager/hostess, to the poiint that we will not go back. Our waitress was really nice- shame.
