Great food. Not so great atmosphere. Bad Music.. The food at this place is great. The Howie is the best meatless sandwich I've ever had. And, the prices are very easy on the wallet. Now lets move on to ambiance. I felt like I was eating in a nightclub before the DJ showed up. The lack of decor is criminal. I went to the club that occupied this space before once (It sucked). The owner of The High Line didn't change a thing. It still looks like Dracula's basement. Then there is the layout. They have these nice windows up front that are great for people watching on Broadway if there were tables by them, but they have chosen to block them with some sort of weird shuffleboard game and a pinball machine. I could see myself coming there more often if they put tables by the windows and got rid of the broke-down club look of the place. Also, the hardcore music sucked and was too loud. Perhaps something to-go next time.
