Tips for Banfield Pet Hospital

In search of an honest vet. I recently went to banfield to for treatment of my cat for a possible UTI. I went to banfield because I thought it would be cheaper...I was charged 3X from a previous UTI experience with my cat ($270 in the past versus $700 with banfield). They charge you for the office visit ($34), pet nurse care ($13.33), doctor supervision ($17.30), and a ward fee ($28.55)...I have never had these extra fees in the past. They also performed unnecessary procedures which cost over $100 in extra fees with double charges. The "wellness plan"is a joke!! CBC specimen collection was suppose to be covered in the basic plan, but after the fact you find out it is for dental only. They front desk lady then had the nerve to tell me they would have to SEDATE my cat for vaccinations which is absurd and has never had to occur in the past...so although I signed up for the plan which covers vaccinations and office visits they are still going to try to get me for extra charges once I am there. You also have to drop your pet off for hours to have the vaccinations done which is time out of the day. Overall the message is DON"T GO... BANFIELD IS MORE INTERESTED IN CHARGING YOU EVERY LITTLE FEE AND OUTLANDISH COSTS FOR PROCEDURES THAN CARING FOR YOUR PET AND THE FINANCIAL WELL BEING OF THE PET OWNER... SAVE TIME AND ENERGY AND GO TO A VETRINARIAN THAN ISN'T IN IT FOR MAKING AN EXTRA DIME ON YOUR EXPENSE!!!!!

take your pet elsewhere!. We took our 16 wk old puppy here for her shots and a check-up. She was experiencing symptoms virus like, and we brought a stool sample so they could check it out. They told us "she looks fine" and that a stool check would be a "waste of money" Not more than one week later, our puppy worsened and had blood in her stool. We took her to a different vet, who confirmed she had a parasite that could be traced back to at least 3 wks old!! and she was contagious to other dogs this whole time!! needless to say, we will not be taking her back if we expect thourough service. It is not worth the money you might save short term.
