Amazing experience

I started out as a beginner skater and now I am training to be on the team. I have really enjoyed the one world roller derby community. Everyone I have interacted with has been open, motivating and very fun to skate with.

We all push each other to achieve the skate goals we want to work on. I have made so many friends and feel apart of a welcoming community.

I always wanted to try roller derby and I am so glad that I involved with one world roller derby. If you are even thinking you might want to join derby, you should defiantly sign up.

By Far the Best

This is by far the best place to go if you are a veteran derby girl or if you have seen the movie Whip It a few dozen times and you always wanted to try it. Even if you can't even stand up on a pair of skates and you dont even know where to begin to find gear this is the place for you. I have been there only a few months and I have made plenty of friends. When I first started I wasnt even able to go around the rink once without sitting down but now I can Jam with the best of them.

Health and Friends

I started skating with One World Roller Derby in September. It was the first time I'd been on skates since high school. As a beginner I was accepted and challenged.

Not only have I found a sport that I love, for the first time in my life, but I have made friends and found a team! The focus here is on skills and basics and I feel like a much safer skater.

Amazing!!

I've always wanted to try Roller Derby but have been held back by my Severe Migraines. Making the commitment to a team sport felt selfish because of the possibility of letting them down. So when I found this Roller Derby Class through North Seattle, it was a perfect opportunity to try it out. I was immediately hooked. The coach, The Hot Flash, Is the kindest, most accepting person I've ever met. She's created an atmosphere free of intimidation where we are all accepted. Because of One World I have a place where I can learn Roller Derby at my own pace.

Awesome Atmosphere!

I loved the idea of roller derby, but I didn't have the time or the skills for a league. Then I found One World. My whole life changed. I can play a sport that I love, and still have time for my family. Everyone there is encouraging, and super nice. Even if you've never skated before in your life, you learn the skills you need to succeed. Whether you decide to stay, or take your new-found skills to another league, everyone is super supportive of everyone else!
