This quaint Seattle Tavern was started by War Horse’s cousin, Brave Horse, who decided to desert the war in an arguably courageous move to pursue his dream of opening a magnificent bar and restaurant. Brave Horse serves elevated bar fare like a homemade pretzel smothered in peanut butter and topped with bacon and a huge selection of brews. If you get lucky, Brave Horse’s lovable brother, Drunk Horse, might buy you a pint.

One of the newest restos in the Tom Douglas family. The brats and pretzels go down nicely with a local microbrew and no one had to help me to finish this burger..

Stellar beer selection, shuffleboard, darts and helluva TVs, get several pretzels with different dips and go on a night when there's a craft brewery in or a live band on the tiny stage.

The food at this Tom Douglas watering hole is truly outstanding, from the burger down to the baked-to-order chocolate chip cookies. Pretzel sandwiches, house-made brats and excellent deviled eggs are fine complements to the impressive lineup of beers on tap. But there's also an elegant entree-size salad that showcase veggies from the owner's farm in Eastern Washington.
