This splendid jewel box of a room features a mercury tinted ceiling and a beautiful old bar which serves up some of the best cocktails in the city.
Even if you have a favorite drink, I recommend letting the bartender mix you up something based on your favorite base. Great way to expand your palate and try something new.
Praised for its punch bowl, Canon can create a cocktail for any drinker from their extensive whiskey selection to their lineup of all-star mixologists behind the bar. Test out the Ardberg Alligator or the Shrouded Roulette which allows the bartender to use his imagination based on your spirit preference.
Had one of the poorer experiences I can
remember in a Seattle bar. From the moment we walked in, the service was remarkably poor. They insisted on shoving us in a corner to stand. Then they ignored us for a solid 10 minutes before asking us if we'd like something to drink (and that only after they finally noticed our grumblings). When we asked about getting a table, the waitperson wagged their finger at us and just about told us to get lost.
Against my better judgment, we stuck around long enough for a drink. For $17 we got a smallish beer and an old timey whiskey drink served in a small medicine bottle without a glass. Maybe some people like that sort of thing. But it pretty much reminded me of being a little kid and being forced to drink cough syrup. Not a childhood memory worth reminiscing over.
There's lots of great, new bars in Cap Hil. But this most definitely is not one of them.
