Even if you have a favorite drink, I recommend letting the bartender mix you up something based on your favorite base. Great way to expand your palate and try something new.

Had one of the poorer experiences I can
remember in a Seattle bar. From the moment we walked in, the service was remarkably poor. They insisted on shoving us in a corner to stand. Then they ignored us for a solid 10 minutes before asking us if we'd like something to drink (and that only after they finally noticed our grumblings). When we asked about getting a table, the waitperson wagged their finger at us and just about told us to get lost.
Against my better judgment, we stuck around long enough for a drink. For $17 we got a smallish beer and an old timey whiskey drink served in a small medicine bottle without a glass. Maybe some people like that sort of thing. But it pretty much reminded me of being a little kid and being forced to drink cough syrup. Not a childhood memory worth reminiscing over.
There's lots of great, new bars in Cap Hil. But this most definitely is not one of them.
