This new Ballard Ave. spot is smokin' in the truest sense of the word. Southern inspired, the menu features classics like mesquite-grilled steaks, house-smoked BBQ, gumbo and catfish. There's no shortage of classic drinks, either, including Mint Juleps and Whiskey Smashes, which round out an impressive whiskey collection--not to mention brown liquors and more than 100 wines. Bo Maisano, formerly of Tin Table, is manning the kitchen, taking a cue from his New Orleans roots. The entire restaurant is rooted in history; the renovated building Kickin' calls home was a millhouse in the 1920s. Now, it's a grillhouse.
