What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying
Cal’s is an American restaurant, but if Cal were an American person he would be the fancy kind that never wears sweatpants to the grocery store or shoots a gun from the back of their truck. A more culinary-focused sibling to its Kent counterpart, Cal’s Classic American Kitchen inhabits a shiny 5,000-square foot industrial space in South Lake Union. Chef Shannon Galusha, known for his prowess at Veil, 727 Pine and most recently Bastille, is in the kitchen serving up comfort foods, like hearty burgers, steaks, and traditional sides like mac and cheese and tater tots. Best of all though is the DIY beer tap perched atop a communal table that allows you to pour your own beer by the ounce. God bless America.
