Stay Informed
Lets start at the beginning, stories always have 3 sides... Our side their side and somewhere in the middle the truth. I walked into the showroom with my family told the salesman that my daughter had bought a car here and suggested we take a look. We looked around and took a CX9 for a test drive, liked the car. To shorten the story we informed the sales person we had plans and set a time limit to purchase the car. We were assured that they could accommodate us, we informed them we could come back tomorrow, but they insisted they could have it done on time. Well 2 hours late for our appointment and they were just taking the car into the back to be detailed. As we are getting to leave 3 hours late, the salesman says send us a buyer and we will give you a cash award. I asked about my daughter and he said no she will not get anything. I informed him then why on earth would I want to send you someone. After delaying my family, then not up holding your deal to reward someone for sending them to you. He looked surprised… I do not know why.
Service dept. My wife took the car in for the A/C not working on drivers side and transmission seeping fluid, she informed me she felt like she was treated poorly, looked down on. I went to pick up car after they had it for 2 days and the A/C still did not work. They had to keep it another day to fix the work of the previous mechanic. We were informed that they found no transmission leak. When I performed the next oil change I saw the transmission was weeping again. Took it in to them and the next day they claimed they found nothing. I had them put the car on the lift and I had to show them where the leak was, they nodded and agreed to fix it. There is more..... But I am tired of typing. If you throw your money at them for useless maintenance issues they love you. Go in with real maintenance issues and I feel they pressure for you to accept an issue.
I recently went to Doug's Lynnwood Hyundai to shop for a new car. I wasn't that familiar with all the models so I went in without a lot of information. I was immediately helped by a very pretty lady, who showed me all the current models and the differences between them all. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend them.
I went in to have my oil pan replaced
in March as the plug threads were stripped. They gave me call saying it looked pretty new and asked if I was sure I wanted it replaced. I told them to check the threads on the plug and if they were indeed stripped, go ahead and replace it. They replaced the oil pan and told me it was ready, saying the threads were stripped.
I picked up the car and started to remember that maybe I did already have it replaced. I did some digging and realized I did replace it 9 months ago. An embarrassing memory lapse, yes, but I was MORE frustrated by the fact that I just paid $600+ to replace a new oil pan. I called them back, confused as to how the threads could be messed up on this NEW oil pan. I picked up the original oil pan from the dealership, took it to the original garage that replaced it, and watched him completely screw and unscrew the plug with no problem! I called the dealership back and they immediately changed their story, saying the threads were "slightly worn" and they had clear written direction from me to replace the oil pan.
I told them very clearly, "do not change the oil pan unless the threads are stripped". They LIED to me and said they were stripped and then changed their story after I called them on it. I talked with everyone in the chain of command up to the manager of the parts & service department. They eventually gave me a partial refund on the parts, but far from what I spent on a completely unnecessary part replacement. I felt deceived and will never go to this or any Hyundai dealership again.
Used Car Lot for Doug's Mazda/Hyundai. I was hit by an uninsured driver and given a small amount of money by my insurance company to replace my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. I went to Doug's Hyundai in Lynnwood, WA and talked to Rianna who walked the lot with me asking me what I could spend and what I wanted to purchase. There was nothing in my price range on the lot and I had no ability to borrow in excess of what the insurance company was paying me. Rianna introduced me to Tyger and between the two of them they found a car in their computer which was had just been traded in. It was not even through the service department yet. It was practically my car, but better. The car had one owner who did all their maintenance at Doug's Hyundai. I had to come in a few days later to test drive. On that day I met with Tim. I felt like family in the way each person dealt with me. I test drove and bought the car. Tim worked with me and even met me 1/2 way to make sure I could buy the car. All 3 - Rianna, Tyger and Tim were there when I came back the next day to sign the paperwork and they made me feel like I was their only customer. I didn't spend a lot of money, but I will buy my next car from them. I bought my original Hyundai Elantra in 2003 from Doug's too and I won't go anywhere else. If you need a car, check them out before buying -- It's worth it.
No Pressure Sales, Great Experience!.
We were pleasently surprised to have a non-stereotypical car buying experience at Doug's Lynnwood Mazda. From the moment we stepped onto the lot we were treated as guests and we never felt any pressure to buy. One of the things I appreciated most was that we were not shown cars we were not interested in (which appears to be standard operating procedure at other lots) and we were not pressured to spend more than we felt comfortable spending (also standard at other lots).
Our Sales Associate, Bob Wyner, was very courteous and professional and is just an all around great guy! He was very patient with us as we thought through making a purchase and asked endless questions. Once we had reached a decision and had come to an agreement, the paperwork went smoothly and we were on the road before long.
After the outstanding experience we just had, we will definetely make Doug's our first stop the next time we are in the market for a car, and we reccomend you stop in and see them!
Relaxed, Honest and Friendly Buying Experience.
After purchasing a vehicle today from Doug's Lynnwood Mazda, I can easily say that it was the best car buying experience I have had. Each and every person we worked with along the way was professional and friendly. From Alberto and Duane who helped with test drives and sale details, to their sales manager Jim who honestly broke down the numbers, and Dale who spent time walking us through the signing, we were pleasantly suprised at every turn.
They had a great selection of cars, each in much better condition than others we had seen at other lots. Once we narrowed in on the one with all of the bells and whistles we wanted, the sales process was honest and stress-free. I am not one to make quick decisions, and they didn't pressure us at all. We told them we needed to sleep on it and they were respectful of the choice and we left feeling even better about their service.
After careful thought, we ended up going back the same day, much of the decision based upon the great deal and great service we received. If you worry about car buying and dread the hard-sale, visit Doug's Mazda for a refreshing change of pace.
BUYER BEWARE!!!. I went here to purchase my first car. The salesmen were unprofessional and misinformed about the car, but I had already done my research and purchased the vehicle. I was told to come back the next day to do the trade and pick up the vehicle (after waiting 4 hours). The next day, The trade and the deal signing took 5 hours, because they didn't tell us what paperwork was needed to actually complete the sale. I had to return the next day, with additional requested paperwork. Over the course of the next couple of days, the salesman called and said I had to come in and sign additional paperwork. I came in and no one had record of me needing to sign any additional paperwork. Then the dealership starts calling saying our insurance was cancelled. The hound my cell phone and start calling my work. Of course the insurance was canceled it was on the trade. At this point I am frustrated with the incompetence of this dealership, I ficilitate them with the correct insurance information, and call back to make sure that they have received it, and to complain about their improper conduct regarding the use of my work number. I am yelled at over the phone, called a liar, and will be returning the car this evening due to their lack of customer skills, and incompetence. You would think they had never actually sold a car before... AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! Their are many dealerships out there that will treat you how you should be treated!
Great Customer Experience (TWICE).
A few years back I purchased a used car at Lynnwood Mazda on Highway 99. I am not a big fan of going to car lots but my experience at Dougs was easy, very relaxed and definitely had a comfortable feel.
Recently, I took the car in for some service work. They analyzed my problem quickly and gave me an update on what my car needed.
I was given a loaner car and treated like I was the only customer there. It was nice for a change knowing that I wasn't being duped by an untrustworthy mechanic. I haven't stopped telling people how great my experience was at Doug's Lynnwood Mazda. They made a big fan out of me and my family. Not only will I go there for all of my car service needs, I will always know I was treated fairly.
Go Doug's!
not the stereotypical sleazy car dealership. I always am on the defensive when thinking about buying a car, and that sleaze-balls are out there to pull one over you. Not the case at Doug's, which I found out was a family owned and operated! They actually seem like nice and decent people! The salesmen were nice, and helpful, too. I also go and get my car serviced there and I have always had a great experience. They always take the time to explain everything to me, and I never feel taken advantage of. I don't know what they put on my car, but my Mazda 5 (awesommmme car!) comes back smelling great and is super clean.
Not the best, little fingertrouble. Phoned Friday 18th December 09 to ask when the 'air bag warning light' on the dashboard should be checked on my gorgeous little Mazda Tribute. Spoke to the reception lady first who correctly put me through to the service dept man. He was clear and concise stating that the air bag would not 'go off' if the light was on but should be checked. He clearly stated that they were not open weekends but if i gave him my name and details as my name did appear on the computer i could call in Monday 8.10 am to have a 'technician' check it out. Very good service up to this point only! Went in on Monday 8.10 am to be told that my booking was not on the computer and they don't make bookings for Mondays over the weekend and that all the 'techs' were busy already and had i taken the persons name that i had spoken to when i booked it? I said no as i wouldn't expect to keep a name to refer to if my details had been recorded and their system worked. Not helpful and a kind of 'Monday morning, the world stinks' vibe. Moral of the story 'If you book in for repair or service, take the name and number of the employee you speak to in case the computer says no on Monday morning'
