Worst fence installer, ever. Shoddy workmanship, failure to comply with job specifications, unprofessional workers, and complete lack of follow-up when contacted about problems. Sure, we've got a new fence but if I wanted a bad one, I would have done it myself.

The job was simple: replace existing, failing wood fence with new one of same dimensions and design. The replacement was over-height at the top (in violation of code, no less), yet failed to reach to the ground at the bottom (making it unsuitable for containing pets). Many boards aren't nailed properly (missed the backing support completely), and there's even one strut not nailed to the post. Some post holes were not even filled up to grade with cement, which would lead to early failure of the post due to poor water drainage. The gate that the foreman specifically called out for me to describe in detail as to which direction it should swing and which side the latch should be on was installed exactly the opposite from my directions, including putting the latch on the outside, locking us in our own yard.

Workers trampled plants, left debris all over the yard, smoked cigarettes next to the house (which not only polluted the air in our house, but resulted in cigarette butts everywhere).

The above is just the highlights of the issues we had.

I made the mistake of paying our bill promptly, so of course the long letter I included with the payment, detailing the wide variety of problems with the job, went completely ignored. After all, they got their money, what do they care whether the job was actually done correctly?

I cannot emphasize strongly enough what a HUGE mistake it was to hire The Fence Connection. It's one thing for a company to make mistakes. That's what humans do, and reputable companies make things right. Based on their complete lack of interest in fixing their mistakes, The Fence Connection is definitely not a reputable company.…
