Behold the power of Snickerdoodle.

The texture of the vegan coconut chocolate chip is much creamier, but the intense cinnamon flavor of the horchata won me over. A coffee cup full will only set you back about $3.

Tips for Bluebird Seattle

Really, Really Home Made. I have always been super impressed with the ice cream at Bluebird. I tend to go for the same flavors, the Elysian Stout, Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Pudding, Peanut Butter and Strawberry and I love them all.

The Strawberry is so simple. Kind of subtle, not too sweet, just creamy and has a very natural strawberry taste to it. I love the Strawberry with their hot fudge on it.

The Peanut Butter is to die for. Very rich and intense. It is easy to think you are just licking frozen peanut butter here, but it is so much more creamy than that and delicious. I can't believe I have never tasted such a good and real peanut butter taste in any other ice cream. This is a flavor best to be shared with another scoop to even it out (Strawberry maybe...).

The Chocolate pudding feels like pudding on your tongue. This is another very rich flavor and excellent in one of their waffle cones so you can even out the creamy rich chocolate with the crisp cone.

And finally the incredibleness of Elysian Stout. It tastes just like the beer, but it's ice cream - confusing no? Every lick is a like a sip of beer. It may sound strange but trust me, if you like stout beer and you like ice cream, there is nothing not to love about this flavor.

Bluebird is a relaxing hangout type spot with lots of board games to play and old National Geographic magazines to flip through. The employees are happy to tell you about how the tables were made and interesting details about the space the shop is in. They will also let you sample all the flavors. I love how really home made everything is there. I once ordered Snickerdoodle and they said it was still setting and opened the top to show me it was still too soft to scoop. And once I asked about the coffee ice cream and they said it was not available because they were just brewing the coffee for it. I'm impressed with the idea of making ice cream so I love to get a glimpse in on the process of making it.

Bluebird also has great soups (Turkey Chili, Thai Tomato and Curry Squash to name a few) and just started serving breakfast this week. They have rotating art shows and there is also a little shop upstairs that sells all things monsters, so there are more reasons than just amazing ice cream and friendly service for you when you stop in.
