Great thai food in Greenwood.
My boyfriend and I live close to Phad Thai and have eaten there about once a week since we've moved to the Greenwood neighborhood. Although the menu is missing some essential curries, mentioned below, the food is always very tasty.
There has been an awkward situation with one of the servers... we asked for chili sauce and she wasn't quiet sure what we wanted and brought Sprite for us instead... our polite correction must have been taken wrongly by her, because she didn't return to the table to give us any other service and sat in the corner staring at us.
Other than this one service blip though we have always gotten wonderful and delicious food from this thai restaurant... I would highly recommend the soup!
Great Thai food with free delivery. Tasty Thai food. With free, fast delivery it's a no-brainer if you're staying at home and live in the delivery area.
Nothing Special. The food was okay...but nothing more. Much better Thai in the UDist. Menu missing some Thai staples - Yellow Curry? Massuman Curry? No where to be found.
Definitely not a 9.4. City Search viewers beware as ratings can be deceiving. This place was rated very high, however... we did not realize that there were only 3 reviews at that time.
This comfy neighborhood spot smilingly offers some of the best Thai food in the North end..
The Scene
Quiet word-of-mouth recommendations have been building the business for more than a decade. The style is plain, but comfortable, with squishy vinyl booths and Thai art mixed with travel posters and enormous photos of the Thai royal family. Even on busy nights, there always seems to be a booth available, and the takeout business is nicely unobtrusive.
The Food
The spice ratings run from one to three stars and can be blindingly hot or quite mild, depending on who's at the stove--be cautious at first. The coconut-peanut sauce, served with all "swimming" dishes and the chicken satay skewers, is rich and luscious; garlic chicken is a pungent, lower-fat choice. Pad thai is light brown and fragrantly spicy, with plenty of egg and peanuts. Sweet, cool Thai iced tea or coffee blend well with the spicy dishes.
Fine Thai Dining. With all the rising Thai resteraunts in the Seattle area, it's hard to find one that is able to compare with the excellent service and food that Phad Thai brings to you. By far my favorite place to eat out, it offers an excellent choice for any appetite, and a great menu as well.
Greenwood is so lucky. A great neighborhood restaurant, but good enough to drive for.
Our Benchmark. When we first moved to Phinney Ridge we ate at the Phad Thai restaurant in Greenwood. We then began exploring other neighborhoods and other Thai restaurants, none of which could begin to compare with the amazing and consistent flavors of what became our benchmark of quality for Thai food. The ambience is not great, but the food is!
