What Our Expert Scouts Say

Daniel's Broiler

Right on Lake Washington, this steakhouse is prime-o! The beef is indeed prime, and priced accordingly. Come at happy hour and sit on the patio overlooking the marina. The view of Mount Rainier is spectacular.

Disappointed. Unbelievable! A very expensive steak house where the chef was not even close in correctly cooking our steaks! Three of us ordered medium rare (the menu specifically describes the inner meat color depending upon how your order it cooked) and what we received was one medium and two medium well!

The restaurant did offer to re-cook the steaks and one in our party did ask for another while the other medium well patron said he would eat it anyway (and eventually regretted it). DB did remove that steak from our bill.

Drinks were good as was the service. Valet had an attitude (don;t know why - we tip well).

For the money, I was expecting more. I don't plan on returning to DB - I will stick with Canlis, Mortons and El Gaucho.

Best food & service in town. Dinner is always fantastic at Daniel's, and of the 3, I love this one for the feel it has...it is like an enclave in this sort of forgotten Seattle neighborhood of Leschi. My wife and I had dinner Aug 26th and start to finish it was the best of dinners of 2009 for us. The Manager Ira is an amazing host, and always makes my wife and I feel like his favorite friends, the service is always superb (we had Bev taking care of us this time, and she is wonderful), and the view is simply the best in town…watching Mt. Rainer go from blue and white through gold and orange and Bellevue lighting up across the lake…WOW!!

Adverse stomach reaction. I took my wife and infant son to dinner at Daniel's Broiler on a Monday evening (8/24/09). I didn't have anything to eat 4 hours prior or 4 hours after our $175 dinner. It was a nice view, but very overpriced and our waiter was a bit cold towards us. I have a really strong stomach and rarely get sick. However, I started sweating profusely and emptying my stomach of its contents just a couple hours after getting back to our hotel. After ridding the food from my system, I felt just fine the rest of our trip. Maybe the restaurant was trying to stretch out their mileage on the meat purchased for the weekend crowds or hadn't received their weekly shipment. Nevertheless, I won't be returning to Daniel's the next time I'm in Seattle.

Great food and views. I've been to the Lake Union Daniel's several times for HH and dinner. The drinks (martinis) are always superbly crafted, the HH food is OK (it's HH, after all) but the steaks we've had there have always been tops. I didn't realize how tops it was till after eating at Jak's Grill. Jak's was above average but Daniel's was even better. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the waitstaff which can be inconsistent in service depending on the crowds.

One of the best steakhouses in Seattle!. One of the best in Seattle!

My boyfriend took me here for my first time and I love it! I have to say, I had a better experience here than the Metropolitan Grill. We made reservations, and were seated promptly. We were seated by the window so we had an amazing view. The restaurant was somewhat loud but still romantic. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and had to be one of the best steaks I?ve ever had! We also ordered the banana bread pudding which was very rich but tasty. Our server was very attentive and professional, always refilled our drinks without even having to ask. Although the price is somewhat high compared to other steak houses, it was worth it. I would definitely dine here again for future special occasions. You won?t be disappointed!

Best EVER!. My husband took me to Daniel's Broiler for my birthday in January. I have to say it was the BEST filet mignon I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection. If I could afford it I would go once a week but I have to wait for a special occasion.

The staff were all so nice, answered all questions and very attentive to all our needs. On our way out a manager greeted us as we got our coats and asked about our expirence. This was a nice touch.

Excellent Steakhouse. I'm a weekly customer at the Bellevue location, tho have been to Lake Union many times as well. And I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country. This is an excellent steakhouse. A mistake here or there is possible, but It's hard to imagine someone having a bad time here. The Steaks have a char on the surface because they're prepared gourmet style, in an 1800 degree broiler. The Char seals flavor into the PRIME (highest USDA grade) steak.

Don't miss: The 3 cheese appetizer from the lounge (on a small slab of granite), the tomato and sweet onion salad, broccoli with Bernaise, wines from the cruvinet, and the Valrhona chocolate cake.

Very Pleasantly Surprised!. My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try out some nearby restaurants. When we walked in, were were greeted like old friends and instantly felt comfortable. We didn't have a reservation, but they got us seated right away in a gorgeous window table. The ahi appetizer was fresh and perfectly rare, the steaks were the best I've ever had, and the service was impeccable. He even brought out a small scoop of sorbet for my husband while they cooked his steak a little more! The other customers in the restaurant seemed to be having a similarly good time. The ambiance was pleasant and intimate, the service just right. We'll definitely be coming back here a lot!

great view, romantic environment, disappointing steak. I went to the Lake Washington Daniel's Broiler this summer for my birthday dinner. I went with six other people. The service was good, and drinks were good. Nobody in our group ordered a well done steak, and everybody got at least a well done steak. I ordered my filet medium, and it was dry (b/c it was so done) in the middle. The waiter comped us for my steak, and would have ordered another, but after waiting 45 minutes for everybody to get their food, I decided to eat what I was served. I would not go again. I would rather go back to The Met or back to El Gaucho, neither of which have disappointed me in the past.

A++++. The food is DELICIOUS and the staff have always been attentive and very pleasant. We eat at Daniels regularly and have never been disappointed! (The Met is a different story...) I never feel like I've over-paid for food even though i pay over $100 a person.
