Amazing Foot Doctor!.
Dr. Huppin and his staff are AWESOME! After having been to see two other podiatrists, a chiropractor, and a physical therapist, I had pretty much given up the thought of ever running pain free (right foot and left knee pain). And all I want to do is get a little exercise.
On my first visit, he gave me an incredibly comprehensive examination. He was able to diagnose various aches and pains I had without me having to draw attention to it. I thought the pains were unrelated but because he is a biomechanical expert also, he realized that my crazy alignment (I'm out of whack) was causing me pain in my knees and hips along with my feet.
He is very friendly and practical in his approach and treatment and explains everything clearly. He evaluated my shoes to ensure that I am getting the proper support. He also gave me specific recommendations on running shoes, dress shoes ? even slippers.
What's great is he is not happy until you are happy. To start he initially worked at tweaking my existing orthotics. This helped a lot but I eventually had him make me a new pair which have completely relieved my symptoms. In any event, he was my last resort and thank goodness I found him. He is one of the few people in the medical profession that I've encountered that I know I can trust... and another bonus....he is ALWAYS on time when I see him.
Fantastic pateint care.
As far as patient care (including service) goes it doesn't get much better than this.
One of the things I love about Dr. Huppin's office is that it always seems to run on time. That means that if I arrive at 9:20 for a 9:30 appointment, that I will be in an exam room at 9:30 (if not earlier) and someone will be in to see me within two or three minutes.
Also, Dr. Huppin will actually call me himself to follow up on a visit and it's SO nice that the front desk is willing to do some of the legwork with my health insurance company. Dr. Hale is great, too (the whole staff is, really).
I stumbled upon Dr. Huppin a few years ago when I was having trouble with my knee. I run (and bike, swim, hike, etc.) and he was very understanding about my need to be back on my feet as soon as possible. I brought in a couple of pairs of running shoes and he gave me excellent advice about the fit and what to look for in a shoe. He made me orthotics to wear with my new shoes and since then I have been more or less free of pain in my left knee. Added bonus: I now have ten toenails because my shoes fit properly.
I really appreciated the fact that he was willing to fix my knee and get me running again (and prevent future injuries) as soon as possible. In the past, I feel like a lot of doctors have simply said, "Just stay off it until it feels better;" an attitude I find to be most unhelpful for my situation.
I recently tore a ligament in my ankle, and they are taking great care of me. There is no way I would have even considered going to see anyone else.
The clinic- doctor and receptionist- are not respectful of other people's time.. My appointment was at 9:30 (arrived 10 minutes early for paperwork) at 10:05AM I still hadn't met the doctor. When making the appointment, the receptionist said it would only take 30 minutes for the first appointment so I scheduled another appointment at 10:30AM. I left at 10:05AM telling the doctor and the receptionist that I was unable to stay for my appointnment because I would miss my next engagement. Neither the doctor nor the receptionist offered an explanation, apology or any concern regarding my experience. Perhaps they didn't really need my business. With a choice of podiatrists, why choose this one? Other things to mention- the office was freezing and there were NO magazines/books in the exam room. If you are going to leave me there, at least provide something to entertain me except the disney pictures on the wall. What clientelle are they serving? Clearly, not a good experience.
Stellar Service!. A few months back I came to the realization that my feet were hurting on a constant basis, and no matter what I tried (varying heel heights, not walking around barefoot, never wearing the same show two days in a row, buying ?comfortable? shoes like Merrells), the pain wasn?t going away. I ended up making an appointment with Dr. Lawrence Huppin after seeing that he was named one of Seattle?s Top Doctors in Seattle Magazine. I was able to find out more about the doctor and learn about what kinds of ailments he treated through his website, which I loved! My appointment was a bit enlightening, as Dr. Huppin finally put a name to the pain I was feeling ~ I had bunions and the treatment was custom orthotics. I was cast the same day (painless procedure, and it was really quick) and a few weeks later I went back in to pick up my new orthotics. In talking with the office manager, I found out that Dr. Huppin was also named Podiatrist of the Year by the WA Podiatric Medical Association and he?s a nationally-known educator and lecturer in the field of biomechanics (which is why he believes in treating non-surgically whenever possible). I broke the new orthotics in over time as I was told to do, and am really, really pleased with the results ~ I don?t have any pain, and am really enjoying my walks now that I know my feet will be okay and not hurt! I went back to Dr. Huppin?s website and found out that they also offer custom orthotics to wear in dress shoes, and have ordered a pair of those as well for my office shoes. I was really impressed and very happy with my results. I would highly recommend Dr. Huppin.
Great podiatrist. Avoids surgery, nice guy.. Dr. Huppin is a podiatrist who specializes in mechanical problems like heel pain, bunions and sports injuries. Their office really focuses on avoiding surgery. I had been having heel pain for months and been to another podiatrist and an orthopedist. I had tried orthotics and my podiatrist was recommending surgery when my family doc referred me to Dr. Huppin. What a wonderful guy! Listens, responds, and helps, with warmth and understanding. He evaluated my orthotics and showed me how they were not supporting my foot enough to relieve my pain. He did some adjustments there in his office and had me wear them. Within a week my pain was finally going away! I went back a few weeks later and had him make me some new orthotics and haven?t had a problem since. My only problem now is that I panic if I don?t have my orthotics with me. I will never go to another podiatrist but him, until he retires. Luckily, he's young!
