What Our Expert Scouts Say

Loretta's
October 26, 2012

One of the oldest bars in Washington. An old logger tavern with top-to-bottom wood paneling, this place is accidentally hip; a bar that hipster bars strive to be. Totally blue collar, the last time I was in here, I sat next to a construction worker and a landscaper who were covered in dirt, making Loretta's their first post-work stop. Extra points for the old Olympia beer paraphernalia behind the bar. Decent grub, too.

Stop coming here in support of our kids' life. My kids can't sleep because of the loud music. I called and talk to them. But they didn't change. I also reported it to the police. It is making our family life miserable.

Loretta's Northwestern Bar & Grill. This is a neighborhood bar & grill! No hotel/motel..

Best burgers and soups in the area, actually the only real place to get something other than mexican food..

A Great Dive Bar w/ Tons of Perks. While Seattle may not have the best dive bars in the country, a few I have found in the last few months have renewed my faith in the bar scene here. My wife and I went to Lorettas for dinner, in the mood for a good greasy burger. They delivered. Great tasking, nothing fancy burgers, side salad and fries. All were excellent.

Even though Loretta's is well off the beaten path, it is well worth the trip. Very simple interior, but clean and tastefully done. Some of the coolest beer signs, those ones that have the "moving" waterfall. This place looks exacly like the "guy room" I hope to have one day. Food is cheap, cheap beer is available as well as good drinks. There is also an old school record player, the kind with a sunken well in it that your parents used to have, that anyone can play a record on. There are about 30 records next to the player and a bunch more stored behind the bar. They also have a great looking patio out back that we didn't take advantage of, but I hope to soon. On the patio they have a Airstream trailer parked there, a ping pong table and another bar. We will definitely be coming back to this place.
