Editorial Review for N – by Alice Feiring

In Short
Hidden away on one of Soho's more secluded streets, this little restaurant and bar (pronounced "en-ye") is the ideal spot for an intimate drink. You can sit in the front or at the bar and knock back the excellent, deceptively fruity sangria or you can eat tapas at tables in the back. The little nibbles they offer go great with the amazing selection of sherries, their very decent wine bar and good, stiff drinks.

User Reviews for N

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I often come to N on a weeknite, but I've also made the occasional visit on the weekend. While crowds predominate starting on Friday, one thing is absolutely consistent throughout the week: the service. In particular, there is a Russian bartender who complements the serene and, dare I say, ethereal, ambiance of the space. I honestly cannot be more unqualified and effusive in my praise. Every time I go there she has always made sure that my party and I are comfortable, and when I happen to arrive alone she engages me in conversation with a sincerety that makes group therapy seem as scripted as a Jerry Springer show! I don't know who to thank for this terrific place but please don't change it!

Pros: flamenco, sangria, bartenders

Cons: crowded on weekends

A Venezuelan and a Russian flirtateously stir up a dangerous assortment of sinful sangria, tapas that soothe the soul and mysteriously enticing witty banter. If you're smart, you'll hobbyhorse your way here on a Wednesday and the flamenco taps will bring you far from Soho and straight to the heart of Buenos Aires. The strategically placed candles set the mood and your glass is never empty which makes N a deliciously unavoidable secret. And who can resist that kind of temptation? Did I mention the bathroom are A+?
