Really a nice, clean, honest place to do business with. I just can't recommend them highly enough. There is nothing about this company that causes alarm. I worked with the owner Mark to sell a couple of old chains. I went in thinking I would be walking out with (hopefully) a couple of hundred dollars and, instead, walked out with $600. I had gone to a place before that was a complete turn off and this place is absolutely the opposite. If you are looking to sell some jewelry, now is the time! The prices are hot. Don't waste your time going to some place that can set up and be gone in 24hrs. Go to a nice reputable company that takes pride. Highly Recommend!
This an excellent company to do business with. I've never bought anything from them but had some jewelry and coins to get rid of and I work down the street. I had taken the stuff to a couple of other "we buy gold" joints and decided to stop into Porcello. Nice store so I didn't expect to get top dollar but what the heck... I worked with Marc who was really honest and didn't seem like your typical shiester and they offered me about $40 more that the two other companies had. I can't comment on making purchases because I never have so don't know their pricing on that. It's a nice little place and they treated me well. Don't know what else to say except try them out before selling them to a in and out business in a strip mall.
Believe the bad reviews for selling gold or jewelry here.
When you walk in you are treated professionally, but when you sit down to sell gold or jewelry everything changes and you feel like you are dealing with the worst of used car salesmen. This may depend upon who you are working with. They are slick and you don't even realize you are being ripped off. When weighing gold, they don't let you see the scale or tell you what they are paying for your gold. And if you go to sell on a weekend, they give you far less than the going rate by using the justification that it might go down on Monday! Well, it might go up, too!.
They will belittle and criticize every piece of jewelry you try to sell them ... they'll say, "We have a dozen of those in the back and we can't even sell them", or "This style is no longer popular". Or "People don't buy this kind of diamond anymore". Beware. They make you feel like your pieces that are worth thousands of dollars are worth hundreds of dollars.
Don't sell jewelry here. Horrible place, very untrustworthy. Had a diamond set that I was looking to sell. (orig 3000) The guy gave me some story about it being an old cut and how the diamond market was swamped with diamonds and offered me 250 for the set. I walked out immediately, feeling a scam. It was. I took it to a pawn shop and the guy was really nice and told me that my best bet was a private sell. He could not offer me what I could get for it, that I should be getting 2000 as the diamond was very near perfect quality. He said that his guidlines being in a pawn shop were that he had to offer below 50% of what he could even start at selling it at so could only offer 500. That was double what Porcello's offered. If you are going to low ball people and rip them off, be honest about it, don't sound like a swarmy car salesman and tell them lies about their product. Shame!
Absolutely Honest. I mailed in some jewelry and didn’t realize I’d stuck my dads highschool ring in there. Boy was my mom hot. I called them right away and they sent it back immediately – two days turnaround from the time they received the package. Can’t thank you enough – you saved me.
Pleasure to work with. With the price of gold being absolutely crazy nowadays, I figured it was time to get rid of some of the jewelry we'll never use and get a few bucks in the process. The folks at Porcello were great! I never felt like they were trying to cheat me out of my money and after doing some research, I am confident that they didn't. I'm pleased that I was able to get rid of some stuff that will never be worn and make quite a bit of money to use toward Christmas.
Super Helpful. My brother and I went Dutch to get our mom a bracelet for her birthday. We chose Porcello because he got his engagement ring there and new the folks there would treat us right. He wasn?t lying! Good folks and a great selection, just what a girl wants from a jewelry store.
Wonderful Jewelry Experience. I went into Porcello?s to get my wife a bracelet for our anniversary. Admittedly, I was a little nervous and intimidated - it?d been years since I was last in a jewelry store and I?d figured getting the right engagement ring had just been blind luck. It was great to have my anxiety completely blown away by a staff that - dare I say - cared about me as a customer. They knew my budget and took the time to work with me to find a bracelet that my wife absolutely loved. I hope my wife isn?t expecting this kind of purchase regularly, but I know that next time, I will darn sure be shopping at Porcello?s.
Like going to a car dealership. Be-ware, first comes the friendly intro's trained to make you feel all warm and fuzzy, then they start, like a used car, they find all that is wrong with your jewelry, and proceed to devalue. It doesn't matter if your piece is worth 800.00 or 8,000.00 the magic 300.00 to 400.00 for your item is what they offer once they've made you feel your valued item is simply unworthy of them, and they could make whatever you have for a fraction. They are pompus Thieves.
Best Experience I've ever had. I went into Porcello Jewelers and had the best experience I've ever had with a jeweler. I sold some of my old jewelry and got a great price for them, and stuck around and bought some new items. Looking forward to going back next time I need something.
