Editorial Review for Hotel Vintage Plaza – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
You may think you've wandered into a European sanctuary upon entering the lobby--the dramatic atrium and comfortable piano lounge are perfect for a quiet read or a bit of people-watching. Many of the rooms are named after Oregon wines and vineyards. Afternoons, the hotel offers complimentary wine tasting in the lobby.
The Details
Rooms are appointed in rich, warm Mediterranean hues. Some suites feature bi-level one-and-a-half baths. Both the business and leisure traveler will appreciate amenities such as voice mail, in-room coffeemakers (with Starbucks coffee) and complimentary newspapers. If you're hungry, dine on inspired Italian dishes next door at Pazzo Ristorante, or head to any one of the fabulous restaurants nearby.

Do not stay here. I have had two bad experiences. First, we stayed here for my husband's birthday. After requesting a quiet room near the top floor (they were not full and I am a Kimpton Member, so I thought they might care) we got a room on the second floor over construction that woke us up at 3:30 in the morning. I am not a sensitive sleeper, but I could not get back to sleep. Side note, the hotel does not have ear plugs, I called down and asked! This ruined an otherwise lovely night. Plus, the bathroom was dingy and far from spotlessly clean. I will say that the manager sent me a gift certificate for a free stay. However, we quickly learned that this certificate was almost never good - I tried to use it three times (on nights when they confirmed they had many rooms available) and was only able to use it on my fourth try. That time, they gave us a small room, once again dingy and this time, very small. This place is overpriced, and needs an update.
Pros: Location
Cons: Dingy, Needs an Update

We booked a room based on the great reviews we read here. However I was extremely disappointed with my stay. We had a garden spa room, which I will admit the jacuzzi and balcony was amazing. The room however was run down, worn paint in the bathroom, chipped tiles, it also smelled like smoke when we entered. I also booked the room based on the '24 hour room service' promise. Upon arrival I found this was not the case. I was told the staff could "go to Pita Pit if I really wanted something, but this was not the norm. I found that to be blatant false advertising. I will not be back.
