Hey Ladies, I just wanted to lend a helping hand if you are looking for the perfect color. I moved here and was pretty clueless on where to go, it's always hard to find a new stylist. I wanted to say that Lucy was great and I honestly think my hair color has never looked this good (I'm a blonde and it's not easy to get that perfect shade). I will definitely be going back and would recommend her to anyone!

Pros: Amazing color! Salon is beautiful, great service

LA is a town where service is generally poor, and frequently horrid. With Prive's reputation for its star-studded clientele, I was initially worried that "civilian" like me would be treated poorly. Boy, was I WRONG! From my first appointment there 5 years ago until today, I've always found Prive to have a friendly and down-to-earth staff - and most importantly - superior stylists & colorists. The quality of service and the end result COMPLETELY justify the price, which admittedly is on the high side. But like so much in life, you get what you pay for... and Prive has always delivered HAIR MAGIC!!!

Came here to do highlights, the results are amazing.. the style afterwards was incredible, overall, very very pleased - I would highly recommend to anyone. For the highlights I had colorist Kaitrin and then to style, Jennifer. Its quite pricey, but, I feel you pay for the excellent work, service, and great products they apply to your hair. Cant wait to go back to L.A. to sample more of their services, (not to mention the spa above which I hear is just as fab!)

Pros: They know their hair!

Cons: Expensive

My favorite stylist Bernard at Prive is no longer there. Thankfully, I was able to find him and he is now at Byron Williams in Beverly Hills.

I've been dying my hair blonde since I was about 10 years old, you name it, I've tried it. I've gone to numerous salons and Prive is the best one in LA! The salon is great, friendly and relaxed! But of course, a a salon is only as good as its employees, and the best colorist in LA (in my opinion!) is Lucy Shultz.. My hair has been through the ringer, blonde then blonder then brown and back to blonde. Lucy was fabulous! She looked at my hair, asked me what I wanted and a few hours later, I looked great! My blonde is a wheat blonde, full of dimension, full of different shades of blonde, shiny, and most importantly, it doesn't feel damaged! It also looks natural (a pretty hard thing to pull off with blonde hair). After about 15 years of trying to achieve a perfect shade of blonde, I can honestly say I have finally found it, and it was thanks to LUCY SHULTZ at Prive Salon on Beverly Blvd!

Pros: Relaxed, fun, good location, fabulous colorists

Cons: Nothing :)

I had my good friend from New York call me to let me know that her stylist of 4 years who specializes in cut and color will now be commuting between NYC and L.A monthly. I called Prive salon and booked an appointment with the mysterious Lionel Renard I was a little worried at first because I needed a huge overhaul but I had faith in my friend. I arrived on a Monday to a pleasant staff in a pretty salon where a cute charming french man came to greet me. A real professional, well mannered, He asked me my thoughts and gave me some Ideas on what he thought would be best for my hair. I felt good in his hands, we agreed to lift my base to a light brown and he added some very natural looking streaks to achieve natural looking highlights. The conversation was great and the experience unique! He gave me a beautiful long layered haircut in a way that my hair had never been cut before. I looked like Gisele meets Penelope Cruz! Lol!!!! I have been sending all my girlfriends to him and they all love him. A little on the expensive side but I truly felt wonderful! Money well spent! though the best is all the compliments I have been getting since! That's why I just had to write... he is the bomb! Oh and by the way my girlfriend just got that new process done: " Brazilian Keratin Treatment" , UNBELIEVABLE ! her hair was a real frizzy mess! It took her hours to get ready! Lionel got her hair straight for 3 months without having to painfully blowdry it ! She had colored hair with high lights and I thought she would damage her hair but her hair ended up being smooth shiny and and perfectly conditioned.

Pros: great friendly service

Cons: expensive

I've been to Laurant's place in NYC and have even had the honor of working w/ LAurant on an editorial photo shoot in the past. (I am a professional model) and I must say that although the prices are a bit high, they are not ridiculous for a celebrity filled, posh salon! I decided to try Luis and Christian here in LA. Luis is absolutely amazing! he is a magician w/ hair! Not only is he the extension king but is also so sweet, and unpretentious! A rarity among well known celeb stylists! Luis even stayed late for me, when he was booked to be at an A-list movie stars house for a private appt. he wanted to make sure he didn't rush w/ me and made sure I was completely happy- paying attention to every detail! He treats you like a diva and makes you look like one too! Christian is also a magician- with color! Also despite his huge celeb clientele he is so down to earth and takes care of you as if you are his Picasso! I happily paid premium prices for an amazing beyond premium job on my hair by Luis and Christian! You will leave looking AND feeling like a Diva! Make sure you have somewhere to show yourself off after your appointment!

Pros: There valet offers car washing while your turning into a diva!

Cons: a bit pricey but worth every penny!

This place is so overrated! I used to go here regularly until I finally came to my senses. I've had my hair colored bright orange (no apology even from the colorist!) and my stylist cancelled on me more than once because I guess a celebrity client came along who was more important. In addition, the stylists actually talk about the clients in front of other clients! My hairdresser tried to pawn off her next client to another stylist because she didn't like her! As a stylist it's part of your job to be able to handle all types of personalities, especially for the prices you pay here! For a cut and a color it's easy to drop at least $400-$500...easy......Are you getting quality, professionalism, and most importantly....do you walk out feeling like a million bucks? Nope.

Pros: can't think of any

Cons: unprofessional, expensive, poor ambiance

From the moment I called to book an appt. last minute to get fit in ASAP I was treated superbly. Maurice a receptionist answered and I was in a panic just in from NYC and told him I wanted Nicole Richies stylist. After Maurice investigated who her stylist was to no avail he recommended I see Christian (Jessica Simpsons colorist) and Luis (Teri Hatchers stylist). Maurice was beyond kind and professional for fitting me in THE NEXT DAY! I explained I was new to LA but did go to Prive NYC and very picky! Maurice assured me not to worry and I see why! Christian however kindly refused to do my highlites I booked bc I have lots of extensions and he was unsure how they would react to coloring. I haven't ever had such an honest stylist who wasnt just "out for the money". I was very impressed w/ his expertise and humbleness although he has the celeb clientele and talents to have a HUGE ego he is very down to earth and he definately knows his craft! Luis gave me an awesome, amazing cut and style that is better than any Ive had in awhile (I only go to top rated stylists) Luis is by far the most talented. He knows what you want and will create it better than you even imagine! I made an appointment to have Luis do my new extensions as that is his specialty! The price was actually very reasonable and fair- as I expected it to be much more than it was. Also, they offer valet parking and an amazing hand car wash for only $15 while you are getting your services done! I like LA Prive better than NYC- although both are of the utmost highest calibur of artists and ambience as well!

Pros: Talented artists, awesome Prive products, hand car wash by valets.

Cons: none
