Great for guys too!

I have been trying to find a descent place to get my hair cut for years. I have had some bad haircuts in the last few years and am kind of picky when it comes to my hair. Shannon was AWESOME! She is very professional and did a great job with my hair. My hair was totally jacked up and uneven when I went in there and now it is perfect. I told her how I wanted it and she cut it perfectly. She is very precise and took the time to listen to me. The staff is very friendly and I would recommend Shannon and Matarazzo to anyone.

• Pros: Friendly staff, great haircuts.
• Cons: Need a Matarazzo in Seattle.

Finally...a good haircut

I've recently been converted to a Salon Matarazzo client after getting butchered twice in a row at my old place. My favorite part about this salon is that the stylists are thorough and ask the right questions BEFORE getting started.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I didn't have a bad phone/receptionist experience. I'm usually really annoyed by that sort of thing as well. In fact, everyone working when I was there was happy and talkative.

Wow, not very friendly at all

Just called to see if possibly there was a same day appointment, and the "receptionist" barely said the slaon name (with an annoyed tone) and after I asked if they had appointments she responded "uhhh NO, we're all booked..." not even a can I check another day or time for you, nothing. Wow, never going to call again, and I'm telling everyone not to go now.

• Cons: Couldn't even get past "receptionist"

Lexi is the best!

I have been going to Lexi for about 10 years now and I love her! She's always listening to exactly what you want and she is really cute and nice. I only had a problem once with the way my hair was done and she fixed it completely free the next day. I highly recommend going to see her. But she will be taking maternity leave at the end of this month (June 2009).

I am sending my friends to Chloe!

I am not one to write a review for something but I had to write a review for the stylist Chloe at Salon Matarazzo. I was a first time client and wanted to get my hair cut and colored. I have been to a few salons around the area and have finally found a good spot for me. I like the environment of the salon and there is plenty of FREE parking out front!

Chloe is one of the most outgoing people I have ever met. She is a big bundle of energy and I was a little worried she wasn't paying attention to my hair but it ended up turning out perfect! I am getting compliments on my hair more than I ever have and all my friends want to know who does my hair. I have never received this kind of attention before because of my hair.

I give 2 thumbs up for Salon Matarazzo and recommend Chloe for all your hair needs....and a good conversation!

Eric is a great colorist

I went to Eric based on his reviews on this site for a color fix two days after my hair, which is dark brown with highlights, had been turned orangey by another hairstylist at a different salon and I've been going to him ever since for both cuts and color. I'm pretty picky, and I highly recommend him!

My hair is really challenging to make lighter because it 'pulls red' very easily - many times I have almost been in tears at other places when the foils were removed and I could see this glinty gold copper color shining shining up in the salon lights, even after I had warned the stylist that this might happen and they really needed to go more towards ash tones than they might think.

Eric spent a lot of time on my hair that first time and totally fixed it, and since then has continued to do a great job on cuts and colors. Unlike a lot of stylists he doesn't make you feel rushed towards the end of the appointment, and if there is something that I'm not sure about at the end (once I thought my hair might still be too gold, but it turned out I got compliments on it) he offers to spend more time on it to make it right.

So, no place is perfect and I don't expect the ideal cut or color every single time, but Eric has done my hair probably four times now and I've been getting compliments on it throughout that time. If you're looking for a change, or someone to fix your color, he's definitely worth a try.

A Hollywood Cut in Bellevue

I have found most hair stylist appear to listen to what you want but only hear a small portion of what you actually say. Then they go about their happy business of snipping away at your hair. So, you walk out of the salon praying that when you get home (do your own shampoo and dry) your hair it will actually look somewhere close to what you are looking for. I have very thick hair and like it to be shoulder length with a bit of a sassy look without looking punk. That requires a lot of precise layering.

My hair stylist moved (there should be a law against hairstylist and doctors moving) and I was in the unhappy dilemma of finding another stylist that could deal with my needs. I searched for several weeks and went to some of the highly recommended salons. One of the stylists made such a mess of my hair I actually cried and was embarrassed to be seen. Then I did a "City Search". I was impressed with all of the positive reviews of Salon Matarazzo and called.

The phone was answered by a very professional, friendly, inviting woman who told me she had time available with Holly and that she was sure I would be happy with her. She was right!! I get compliments on my hair almost every day. Holly knew exactly what I wanted at the very first visit. I have only been to her two times, have already referred her, and feel blessed to have found her. If you want someone with talent, who listens to your needs and is a mature, beautiful, delightful, woman, Holly is it.

Consistently stopped on the street and asked ?Who cuts your hair??

Ron (the owner) has been the only person to cut my sometimes-unruly hair for over 20 years. I am stopped, almost daily, by strangers who comment "Your hair is beautiful" and then follow with "Where do you get it cut?" I cannot count how many strangers and friends I have sent to Ron and his excellent staff over the years. Even when I didn't live nearby, the drive to Bellevue was well worth the result. And with all the new shops & restaurants at Lincoln Sqare about a mile away, and more to come soon which will be even closer to the Salon, a haircut or color can be the reason for an all-day adventure.

Best Bob!

Yesterday, I went to Salon Matarazzo for the first time. I went in with shapeless, limp hair and Liz cut it into a wonderful shoulder length bob. She was able to see just what I wanted from the photos I'd brought with me and also advised how my bangs should look for my face shape. I am so happy with the result! For a great cut, I would definitely recommend Liz.

Everyone a Professional...

My experience with Salon Matazzaro was a notch above the hair salons I've visited. Each stylist was apprenticed, went to and through advanced training with education, often sent to places like New York.

At the salons expense. This is a salon that cares about us! And giving you the best services possible, with new ideas and they welcome all ideas (pictures for me) we have as well. This salon also has staff that have come from notable salons, indeed.

My haircut was fixed, and looks phenomonal. I'm an industry professional in the same line of beauty, and this salon knows you deserve it...

Great Haircut!

I was so happy with my experience of going to Salon Matarazzo. I looked on City Search to find a good salon and I could not of been more pleased. Lexi gave me a hair syle and cut and I love it! She actually walked me through the process so I could hopefully repeat it at home. I am so glad I found her and the salon!
