Always consistently good! by Cathy A. at InsiderPages

Ixtapa is one of those restaurants that is never a crap shoot - you will get a lot of food and it will be very good. Service is reliably fast and friendly as well. This is a great place to bring a large group and not worry if you are a little loud. The reasonable prices won't break your wallet, either.
The best salsa, period!

Few years ago, before having gone to this Ixtapa, someone living in the Woodinville area told us that the Duvall Ixtapa had the best Mexican food, especially the salsa - on hearing that we joked that this person has probably not eaten out a whole lot. However, on eating there, we were shocked to find out such a fantastic Mexican restaurant existing in the 'burbs. We eat a lot outside, and no other Mexican restaurant in the entire Seattle area even comes close to this place. All you fans lining up outside Mama Mia's in Belltown take note. The only other Mexican restaurant which I liked over this place was El Portal, which unfortunately shut down.
The salsa is simply awesome!!! San Diego's #1 Mexican restaurant's salsa was barely a match for the one they serve up consisently every day in the Duvall Ixtapa - it is fresh, spicy and great with the warm homemade tortilla chips. The service is so good that they are never rarely waiting for a refill of the chips/salsa.
Other favorites are the DLux Shrimp enchiladas (pesto based - very yummy), the Chicken Fajitas and a bunch of others.
The staff is pretty polite, friendly and above all, prompt. Rarely, you have to wait for a table as the place is pretty large. The ambience suits the Mexican fare.
Overall, I highly recommend the Duvall Ixtapa and havent found any flaws yet - beats every other existing Mexican restaurant in Seattle easily.
- Pros: Best Salsa, great service, delicious fajitas and enchiladas. friendly atmosphere
- Cons: None, other than it serves up the standard Mexican fare
Consistent, Delicious

We have all gone to many "Mexican Restaurants" in the U.S. This one has all of the same americanized entrees, all of the same verbage, with one big difference. The persons preparing the food care what it tastes like!!!! Believe it or not, the cooks and the Duvall Ixtapa do what most seem not to do . . . they taste their wares before they serve them. I could go through details on much of the menu, but the key is for all to go and try the fare.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Clean, Friendly
- Cons: Pink Interior
