Moda VIP
by jandjplusone at Citysearch
I was talked into going to moda by a friend who gave me a gift cert that she had gotten from the salon called a VIP, to be honest i thought it was a little corny; however after visiting i can see why they call it that. I was welcomed warmly and had a great experience meeting the director of the salon and owners. I was taken care of like a true VIP and i love my new hair! Moda is not cheap but the staff is friendly, the hair is great and I?m trying out the spa next week! Thanks for the recommendation Julie!

WOW! Fern thank you for being so amazing.

Fern (owner/ stylist) is one of the most experienced stylist I have ever met. I am quite picky when it comes to my hair. I have been on the hunt for a new stylist for about a year and a half. My search is now over.
Anyone who has had one of those haircuts where your hair is just easy after will understand. It may sound simple but it's not. Fern expressed a high level of knowledge when it came to both hair cutting and color technique. She took me from blond to the most amazing chocolate brown. I just LOVE it!
I told her to give me a bunch of her cards because I just know I will be stopped in the street and I will gladly pass along her name.
- Pros: Great stylist, cute atmosphere, super easy parking.
Extremely Pricey!

After reading several reviews, I was very excited to try MODA salon and try a new summer haircut. Right when I got in to the reception area, I have to wait a few minutes to get checked in because the receptionist was chatting with a co-worker. She did not even notice me coming in that I have to wait and get her attention! I arrived a few minutes early, so I sat down and waited for my stylist. She came in on time and greeted me with a smile. She was very courteous, pleasing, and I appreciated the attention and detail that she gave me. For a $43 haircut, I was expecting something edgy, modern, and fresh BUT I would have gotten the same result elsewhere and pay half the price. I have no problem paying extra if it would produce a good result, yet the services in this salon was overpriced! I even chose a senior stylist but to no avail :( I am not coming back again and I do not recommend it to anyone.
Try it - you'll love it!

I love Moda! I've never had a 'bad hair' experience. The staff is very professional - I love Jacqueline - though probably a bit pricey on various items, you can't beat the service or the resulting product!!
- Pros: Great customer service
- Cons: A bit pricey, but worth it
Great services - super friendly staff!!!

I love this place - I regularly visit for eyebrow waxing, lash and brow tinting and facials. They seriously "design" your eyebrows! Keegan and Shay Lynn are excellent - super friendly and I get compliments on my skin all the time thanks to their expertise. Their product lines for make up and skin care are top of the line. Everyone in this place is friendly - from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave. I 100% recommend taking some spa time for yourself here!
- Pros: service, quality of treatments and staff
- Cons: none!

I have gone to this hair salon a few times already & truly do love the experience every time! The girls working there are so friendly & really listen to your needs & interests. The service is outstanding as they always offer a drink & to hang up your coat.If you don't know what you want done to your hair, they are sure to help figure out a look for you.The salon carries great products like bumble & bumble (I absolutely love).I can't say that I have been to the spa portion of the salon but will try it one day.I am always pleased with the outcome of my haircut & style. The price is $39 but also includes a shampooing & conditioner.I can't wait to go back for a fresh new summer time look!
- Pros: friendly staff, well experienced hairdressers ,great atmosphere

The stylists and receptionists at Moda were absolutely without a doubt wonderful. Although they are a higher end salon, their attention to detail and the customer's needs are phenomonal. I was looking for something to brighten my day in downtown Edmonds on one of my days off. I parked my car and just walked into the Moda Hair Cafe & Day Spa to just grab a brochure to see what services they provided (as well as the costs for them). The receptionists were extremely helpful with suggestions and advice and ended up scheduling me for an appointment for a haircut and color. Since I had to wait, they had one of their newer trainees give me a complimentary manicure and hand massage (ahhh, how nice that was!). They gave me a first time discount coupon for being willing to just walk in and make an appointment. The ladies that worked with me (Katie for color and Robin for the cut and awesome styling) along with a few other stylists they asked for input on how to give me a great style. I have unruly coarse and curly hair, and Robin helped show me how to give it a smoother look. She was the first stylist to flat iron my hair and make it look sleek and oh so different. My husband and kids loved it! Along with having a great time and finding out how to have a better look, it seemed that all the other customers were having a good time too. I highly recommend their salon/spa for anyone wanting to treat themselves to taking care of themselves or just plain wanting a new look.
Best Salon EVER!

Moda is the best hair salon I have ever been to, and I spent quite awhile looking for a new salon when my old stylist quit the business 8 years ago. The staff and stylists are all very friendly, although Katie is my personal favorite. They have some of the best customer service that I've ever experienced in the service industry. They really make you feel like a million dollars as well as making you look that way. I would recommend this salon to ANYONE looking for an awesome hairstyle provided by a knowledgable, and considerate stylist who is up-to-date on trends. I have seen customers who look like they're in highschool righ on up to older grandmother aged women leave this salon looking beautiful, and stylish. It's pricey but worth the money as you'll always look your best when you leave (and afterwards as well, they are great at teaching you how to style your own hair!) and they don't pressure you into buying their products, they have advised me on less expensive products which will give me similar results many times, and they've never lead me astray. If you need a salon or a new style you really should give Moda a try, I recommend it to everyone I know.
- Pros: Friendly, knowledgable staff
- Cons: pricey
MODA ...a mother and daughter's vision

For over 40 years of service to the SEATTLE area FERN TULL has been influenciual mentor and the instrument that inspired Manuel of Gary and Manuel Salon, Rory and Keith of Coupe Rokei, and Mark Farmer of Marco on Two."MODA is a downtown (Edmonds) salon without a downtown attitude". If it were anything less, it would not be acceptable! MODA stylists are chosen and are expected to put the customer first.MODA has to be customer driven. Salon Today magazine has ranked MODA in the TOP 200 SALON IN AMERICA for the last SEVEN YEARS! That status only comes when a business owner and stylists do thier jobs! Customer Service is not rocket science.Delivering and providing clients with value is MODA's mission. MODA has and will always provide the highest quality of haircare, MODA will personalize and hand make each hair color so that you look like it was "intended". MODA has experienced an incredible amount of growth, with that comes new challenges. A challenge to all that have experienced MODA and those who say they have. "Get in there! MODA has been MODAFIED and get a fresh taste of what they have always been and strive to be. Those on the MODA team have been reinspired by FERN and JAMI'S dedication to education (and sometimes a swift boot) on how they want thier clients cared for. MODA stylists are like no others, they push themselves technically and non techinically, which means you'll experience a FERN and JAMI's way of doing hair! MODA has made a difference in how you view salons......its not just the decor it is who makes up that team and the joy they give, a caring experience should be contagious, a high quality service is not cheap (there are salons in the strip malls for that!). Your high quality personalized style is pricelss as long you continue to "feel" the value. MODA's haircuts are $35 to $54 : 4 centuries of knowledge and experiences wrapped up into your stylists finger tips.... USE it, WEAR it and LOVE it! That's what MODA was made for.......YOU!
wont go back

i went here once and i will never go back. the stylists are mean and catty. they were extremely rude to my friend and made her feel really bad, and they did a horrible job processing my hair. not only that but everything in the salon is triple the price of anywhere else, shampoo and everything.
