It has been a while since I stopped in to Country Village. I remember the 'country feel' it had in the early 90's so I was pleasantly surprised to see the changes that have happened over the years.
We showed up on a Friday to spend the day and found out they also hold a Farmers Market right on site! There were about 35 vendors selling organic produce, hand made items and henna tattoos. It was very festive. There was a BBQ vendor who made the whole place smell like heaven! I only wish I knew about the market ahead of time so I could stock up on all that fresh produce!
We stopped into several shops including O'Malley and Potter "Feel Good Products" I could have stayed in there all day! Aromatherapy products and some great specialty items (started my Christmas shopping early!) Toys that Teach was another great shop. Although toys aren't on my list of things to buy these days, I was still so impressed with all the original toys in that shop. I was told they try to carry toys that do not require batteries. What an idea! Apparently, it was a good idea since the store was packed.
We had lunch at Papa's Place and were very impressed! I ordered a half a sandwich (which was good because it was about 4inches high!) Some of the salads that we saw coming out of there were HUGE!
After lunch, we walked around a little more and found some antique shops, a really sweet little bakery, a spa, Italian restaurant, furniture-home decor stores, a pottery shop, art gallery and a glass blowing studio. We weren't able to take it all in so we plan to come back Friday for the Farmers Market and visit the rest of the shops we missed last Friday.
What I do remember about Country Village (that I was glad to see was still there!) were all the rabbits, roosters, chickens and ducks just hanging out by the shops.
Quite a unique place to spend the day. I am glad we ?re-visited? Country Village.
One stop shopping, but what a unique experience!

The thing about Country Village that is so unique from other shopping malls is that it can be a one stop, or a whole day of fun!
The playground in the back of the village is great for kids, and while you're back there you can take a ride on the train. Also, stop by Toys That Teach for some fun toys to take home, and Bella & Max does kid's hair cuts and has the best clothes!
We love Papa's Place for their sandwiches & pastas, but for dinner Stella Mia Italian Restaurant is a real treat as well.
Not to mention the wide variety of shops - there's a bead shop, several antique stores, women's clothing shops, and tons of places to find great decorating items for your home!
You can't go wrong at Country Village, there's so much to choose from and you can definitely make the whole family happy here!
