Wait is too long. Staff wants your money. Food "Used" to be good. So called manager needs to be fired and replaced with a real Manager. Should say enough... Go Somewhere Else.

Pros: Nice Wines

Cons: Horrible Staff

We were waiting for more than an hour for a table when a group of three people rolls up and gets seated immediately. I walk over from the bar and ask politely if we can expect much more of a wait. The hostess tells us there is at least another hour. I ask why the 3 folks were given preferential treatment when so many are waiting and she blithely says they are "friends of the manager" so they get seated straight away! I ask to see the manager and this guy comes over - angry! He asks in a hostile tone if I "have a proble or something?" From his menacing tone it is almost as if he is looking for a fight. I tell him many are waiting for a table so it'sw not right for his friends to be seated immediately. His reply? "I seat people as I see fit" and then he walks off. I probably would not be writing this if that were all he said but he is audibly saying "uppity monkey..." As I am of Indonesian heritage I take grave offence at this remark. It is beyond the mark of anything acceptable. Needless to say we left immediately. You should NOT patronise Jaks. The staff is rude but little wonder as the manager is a racially insensitive lout!

Cons: Management is boorish and ignorant. The staff is RUDE beyond words

We were stunned when the teenaged girl at the door told us we had a 2 hour wait for a table. Since we had been told this was a great restaurant we decided to belly up to the bar and wait. The barman was great but his wine pours were pretty shallow - especially given the premium prices this place charges. Anyhow, we noticed that several tables sat empty but not bussed - inexcusable when so many people are waiting for a table - so I finally went and asked the girl at the door if they could clear some of these tables. She looked at me as if I were asking something ridiculous, she actually rolled her eyes, and said "can't you see we're busy?" Incredible response. Look, this girl is cute but she isn't going off to study at Yale this fall if you know what I mean. Anyhow, we finally get seated after 80 minutes. The waitress is just like the girl at the door - pretty but stupid and rude. We asked what the specials were and she said, "I think we're sold out..." I guess that suffices for an answer at Jaks. We finally get our steaks but my Ribeye has turned up as Strip. I mention this to the waitress and she argues with me that I ordered a Strip!! I'm not going to argue with a moron so I ask to see the manager and she replies, "he's really busy!" I am in stunned disbelief. We say fine and get up to leave and that's when the manager comes running over. Problem is he's not there to placate but to challenge! I explain what happened and he tells me that the kitchen cooked me a "perfectly good piece of steak..." I reiterated that I did not order the Strip and he says I can leave but I need to settle the bill! I refused and he threatened to call the police. We ended up at the Mexican place across the street. We were seated right away, the food was what we ordered, and the staff was friendly. That's all we wanted in the first place. DO NOT EAT AT JAKS!

Cons: Service is atrocious and the manager is a bully

After waiting for 90 minutes to be seated our steaks were overcooked. The response? The manager gets in my face and yells at me that I don't know how to cook aged beef! Can you believe it? We will NOT be returning to Jaks nor should you!

Cons: Manager is an idiot, long wait, poor service in general

I don't know why they flock to this place. The food is atrocious, the staff is rude and not very helpful. I made the mistake of trying a pork chop there and I'd have to say that was a big mistake. I should have never taken those precious 2 bites into it, as I didn't realize until I swallowed the 2nd bite that it was raw in the center. I sent it back and they tried to cook it, only to bring back a raw pork chop again, then had the nerve to force me to pay for the 2 bites of raw pork they served me. Now, I'm a fan of raw uncooked meats when they are safe, but not pork. The illness I got from this was pretty legendary. I would warn all to avoid this dump and go somewhere better like Quinns or the Met, or El Gaucho, or Capital Grill, anywhere but this unsanitary place. I'd rather eat at Denny's.

Pros: cheap[

Cons: rude staff, terrible food

The Maitre'D is a slovenly, tasteless boor. He wears a cheap suit and jingles his change in his pocket. There must be a couple of faux gold chains beneath the J C Penny's polyester necktie he wears. My point? I went to this man to complain that after a two-hour wait for a table we found the service to be rude and the food lacking in quality. His reply? "Nobody else seems to have a problem!" I mean really! I thought this was a joke but the sad truth is that the front line management probably trained at a sleazy Poconos supper club because that is precisely how this man behaved! We will never return to Jak's Grill in Issaquah!

Pros: Tasteless, boorish manager - what a horrible man!

Cons: See above

We are Long time residents of the area. We have had good meals at Jak's but we do continue to be disappointed with the service and staff policies. No reservations and the wait is inconsistant. The seating availability is frustrating. We have waited 1 1/2 hours for a table while watching cleared set tables sit for up to 30 minutes open. We have also been told a 2 hour wait only to be called in 15 minutes. There is a feeling of arrogance among the servers and it consistantly feels like it's not about the customers. Do not try to have a party over 6 - they are not set up for it. Hostesses are somewhat hostile and don't care about the long waits. Managment is non-existant. We won't be going back.

My family and I have eaten at Jaks 5 or 6 times over the last few years. Service is always slow. It can take a half and hour just to get our drinks let alone dinner. The steaks can be really good or really blah, more often than not, they are not that great. I once had a steak that was more than half fat, I left more on my plate than I ate, waitress looked at me like I was crazy to complain and of course nothing was done. Personally, I will probably be going elsewhere next time we go out for steak.

the staff are rude and who would rightly wait 3 hours to get a table? i refuse to submit to this insanity.

Since new ownership has come in over the last few years this place is seriously going downhill. What was once the premier steakhouse in Seattle is quickly becoming Denny's. They've lost their focus on good food and have started sullying the menu with sh!t like mac and cheese and *onion rings* and steaks with sauces. They're also now doing lunch and a Sunday brunch. Even the steaks have been "meh" the last several times eating there. It seems the new owners are only interested in milking as much short-term money from a once-great thing. JaK's was once my favorite restaurant (to which I've brought many business clients) - I'm sadly looking for another.
