Milkshakes are great, burgers fine, fish sandwiches and fish and chips tasty, but what really shines are their deep-fried mushrooms with tartar sauce. Also to their credit, their bacon cheeseburgers have real bacon, not that thinly sliced, nuked bacon-like stuff that most of the bigger fast-food chains use.
Generous burgers with a side of nostalgia.

Kidd Valley was once just a humble burger shack in the U-Village neighborhood catering to college kids and 1950s nostalgia-seekers. Now it's a full-blown local chain with 10 locations and a list of fans that's as big as the phone book. For many, burgers act as merely an excuse to order the sweet french-fried onions, the fried mushrooms and the creamy fruit shakes. Some opt for the hot ham-and-Swiss or the grilled chicken sandwiches.
