Gone downhill fast

I used to find Kenmore Camera a moderately good store.
Unfortunately, I recently had an awful experience with their staff when I brought in some binoculars to be repaired under warranty. When I went to pick them up, I found that the small blemish I was originally concerned with was still unfixed. Even worse, there were now perhaps a half-dozen cracks around the eyecup, there was sloppy glue all over, and the action of the eye pieces was substantially impaired. When my wife and I complained, the staff actually blamed US for the damage. Then when my wife removed one of the eyecups to check it, they immediately claimed we had broken them (an obviously false claim to anyone who works with, much less sells, these binoculars -- the eyecups are designed to be removed). Then then made us pay $30 for the "repair" -- thanks guys -- before we could get them back.
We've never before been in a dispute with a business over a customer service issue like this and we were frankly stunned. I later wrote an email to them explaining our position. They replied with the same defensive, high-handed, and accusatory manner they'd used with us in the store. At this point, I'd recommend that everyone avoid patronizing them. There are plenty of other great camera and optics stores around Puget Sound.
Great family owned business

A great place to find new or used amatuer and pro
equipment. Knowledgable and honest staff except
one guy. They also have a photo lab and digital services. Ask for David, Damon, Dante or Rich
