Bad management, customer service, and sketchy business practices

Do not go here. A while back I booked my honeymoon through them and it was a horrendous experience. Without a travel agent friend who eventually recovered and rebooked everything for us, it would have been totally ruined. From simple things like having trouble booking flights to Florida months in advance to more complex issues with all the fees they want to charge, it's just not the type of experience you'd expect from this type of industry. If you try to cancel they management get immature over the phone and stop even acting like they are a business. Even after more than a year I feel this is still one of the worst organizations I have ever done business with.

Also note: They HAVE been reported to both the Washington State Attorney General and the Better Business. Additionally, they were using certifications from travel associations on their that they were not actually a part of, and were reported to these as well.

On a brighter note, some of the individual travel agents that work here are fairly nice and helpful...if you are willing to risk everything else.

The best. We can't wait until our next trip!

We have been delighted again and again with the recommendations for places to stay, activities to try and when to go. From Washington D.C. to Disneyland to Hawaii I feel like I can trust what they tell me, and one place Sandi recommended has us going back again and again.

Travel for us is a big investment and I've been amazed at the deals they have found for our family. Thank you to the team at Totem Travel for delivering high quality service over the past eight years.

Highly NOT recommended

Their public relations is severly lacking in common courtesy. Called to get some travel ideas and packages. Person who answered was the owner..who wouln't even give an insight off the top of her head...Just rudely told me, " if you're not going to pay us, I'm not going to do the leg work". Called other agencies who were more than happy to offer their advice...and then booked through them.

Not recommended

Being part of a cross cultural family and Microsoft employee we travel often. My aging grandparents in Spain requested I visit them at the last minute. I called Totem Travel to book airline tickets for myself and children. The rep who answered the phone was not willing to help me unless I "came in to set up an account." When I explained that I had two small children and needed to book the tickets quickly ? she suggested ?that I go to Travelocity.? I did not want to book this trip by myself as there are too many connecting flights. I found another agency to help me. Passport Travel / Amex was willing to help me and did not ask me to "come in to setup an account."

Excellent service, friendly people

We have used these folks for at least ten years now, and they have never let us down. We decided to go on a cruise at the last minute this year, and they put everything together for us very quickly. They are planning our trip to Germany for us in the fall. We have also found their website to be very helpful, directing us quickly to the information and/or person we need

Incrediable Travel Experience :)

I've been traveling all over the world since I was four months old. While my parents handled those trips, I've been doing it myself since high school. After using Totem Travel, I am DEFINITELY one of their converts. Several friends recommended them while I was busy planning my wedding (and control freak though I am) I checked them out.

Our agent, Jennifer, was amazing. I got exactly the level of control I wanted without the added stress. We saw 3 islands over 10 days (five plane trips - no hassles - wow), saved about 4 thousand dollars from what my research indicated we would spend, and had a flawless itinerary. Aside from planes, hotels, and automobiles, she booked us time with dolphins, luaus, exclusive dining, even got our rentals arranged ahead of time.

I have to say, that in 70 odd trips, this one was arranged the absolute best. Well...my ego can take it...since the result was so incredible. Any question as to whom I'll be using in the future? Nope. :)

Willing to go the Extra Mile!

I've taken several vacations through Totem Travels. My agent, Jennefer, takes care of all the details so I can lay back and enjoy my long earned time off. She helped me with everything from airfare to what restaurants for what occasion. Not only did she plan out the fine points of two all-inclusive resorts vacations and a couple quick-jump getaways, but also she was right on top of it when my friend had a stroke, and I had to have help quick. I?m so glad Totem Travels is reliable and stable, even when I?m not! Thanks Totem, and thanks Jennefer!

Topnotch travel services

I have used Totem Travel for all my travel for over 15 years. They are friendly, efficient and most of all have personally experienced the tours, hotels and restaurants they recommend. My travels have taken me to central and eastern Europe, Mexico, Canada, the British Isles, sunny destinations in the US, and cruising the Carribean. Their agents are friendly and courteous and always "go the extra mile" to ensure that I have the best vacation ever. They have also held special travel education days on specific areas, such as Spain and Scotland that have given a unique "flavor" to the destination. I have and will continue to recommend Totem Travel to my firends and family for the best in vacation planning!

Exemplary customer service

Totem Travel has helped me with my travels for over 8 years now. I always know that I will have everything I need for a smooth easy trip whether I'm heading to Europe, Mexico or Jamaica. They make all the arrangements before I go-flights, transportation and accommodations, that way once I arrive all I have to do is relax and explore, no figuring out where I'll be staying or how I'll be getting there. The agents at Totem Travel make my trips easy and that's what I like.

Great service and extremely knowledgeable agents!

When planning our family?s summer trip to Italy we consulted many agencies in the Seattle area but Totem Travel stood out as the best! We were able to plan our trip quickly and effectively and saw more in a week than most tourists do in a life time! They cover destinations all over the world and have been almost every where. We will be planning our trip to New Zealand through them next year!
