The Worst Italian Food Ever
by backle at Citysearch
By far, this is the most pitiful excuse for an italian restaurant. I have been to the restaurant 4-5 times (1 time to try it out, the other 3-4 times because of birthday and sports parties my kids were invited to). The food is horrible. The pizza dough is chewy. The red sauce is like ketchup. The only decent thing on the menu is their house salad because it is literally smothered in grated mozzarella cheese, hiding the rediculously thick house dressing. Oh, and the service. What service? Wait staff is almost non-existent. Save your money.
- Pros: Only sit down italian restaurant on Mercer Island
- Cons: Food, Pizza, Pasta, Service
One of the Greats!

I think it's funny when people expect a high end dining expirience from a "mom n pop". Yes, I'll agree -the service is generally lousy. -Can you really expect a 5-star expirience from a few spoiled high school kids? The food is one of kind, and when it comes to flavor (isn't that what we're really lookin for?), few come close. I have lived away from Washington for the last 15 years. Wanna know what the first thing I want, when I come back to visit, is? This place has been in business forever! All of my 35 years, anyway... In a town where a lousy resraurant gets pushed out as fast as they come in. Roberto's IS, by definition, comfort food at it's finest. If you like your coffee from Starbucks, get your pizza from Domino's. Leave these little gems to those of us who can appreciate them. Oh, and always make sure to ask for the dressing on the side. ;^)
- Pros: Comfort, Warmth, Food, Flavor, Environment and OH MY GOD, The Garlic Bread!
- Cons: Service, Service and Service
Yummy!

The house Italian dressing is really out of this world- the salad is true Italian flare with mozzerella and salami topped. The pizza, I think is the best in the Seattle area. The service is usually poor, but that probably reverts back to the owner.
