This by far is my favorite place to go to relax or enjoy a fine dinner. I have been constantly going to the Salish for about 2 years now and have never been disappointed. I have been reading the reviews and one said that the rooms were chilly. The rooms all have fireplaces and adjustable heat. My boyfriend and I, however invited the air and made the fireplace (which has quickstart logs) to embrace the warmth of the fireplace. However, if you prefer you can also just turn up the heat. The dinner experience has always been amazing (I have always requested R.D. as the waiter) and has never steered my boyfriend and I wrong. Now the spa. Best river rock hot stone massage ever. They put these little stones in between your toes and you feel like you're in heaven. The place is a little expensive, but in my belief 100% worth it. We once took a limo up there and needed hiking boots they volunteered to drive down for us and pick up some shoes it we gave them our shoe sizes..instead we had them drive us down there and it was completely complimentary. I also set up reservations for my friend (who was leaving for Iraq) and his girlfirend. When I told them why this dinner was important to them they set the table up with flowers and had them sit in the private dining room also complimentary. I have never seen a resort go thru so much for the customer. This place is amazing if you're down to earth and just want to go relax.
- Pros: Customer Service All Around
Great Dining Experience!
by lamanax
I have been here a few times and Salish Dining Room (for dinner) is one of the top places I've been to. It's definitely my favorite dining experience around the Seatlle area and really one of my favorites overall. It's expensive, but the tasting menu is really fantastic. Everything on the plate has a purpose and melds perfectly.
We had the tasting, which is expensive but IMO worth it. Our waiter, R.D. (the only waiter I have ever requested) puts it together for us after asking our preferences, so it's a complete surprise when we are served. Of the 6 courses, 3 particularly stood up. The beet salad is terrific. The glazed nuts and the greens go extremely well with the beets. The kobe beef carpaccio melts in your mouth. And the scallop appetizer with mushrooms was the best scallop I've ever had.
Other things that I've had in the past that have been great are the bisques, the hot rocks, and the buffalo filet.
Dessert hasn't been the greatest. I should also note that I've been to their breakfast a couple of times and I think it is completely overrated and not even in the same ballpark as their dinners.
Salish is not a dish!

I brought my mother from out of town to have dinner at your establishment today. We ordered the Oysters that came with 5 for two people.
The oysters were good. We both ordered the Trout with fava beans and potatoes. The trouble was the plate was missing the fava beans and we both got half a small dried up piece of meat that had an abundance of oil.
We told the waitress about the beans and she brought us one small plate with some peas and green beans microwaved dry with butter that we had to share. I then ordered more oysters and they were good but scarce.
We were then rewarded with a cream brule that was...well, not to standard.
Mohitos were good!, I had 2 and my mother 2 glasses of house merlot.View was great! Thanks goodness for the bread or we would have left very hungry.
The waitress was nice her name was Joan, but the presentation was not delivered worth the $160 I spent.
I would recommend tightening up the crew with some extra training.
Your establishment was recommended by a friend of mine but at this time, I personally wouldn't recomend it to anybody at this point.
I'm not one of those people that go around bitching to get something for free. I truly did see deficiencies.
MOST romantic and relaxing weekend getaway!!!
by onewish7
OMG my boyfriend took me there and the dinner there couldn't be better. We had the six course dinner and everything was soooo delicious!!! The wine expert was helpful in finding us the perfect wine for our dinner. Our suite had two jacuzzis in it and the view was amazing. A breath of fresh natural air and a beautiful view. The staff there were sooo friendly. I was hungry at 2 am and the room service had closed at like 1 or so but we still called to see if they would just do us a favor and the staff was able to deliver us room service. DON'T FORGET about the massages there because they are THE BEST!!! It was the best experience ever!!!
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: you might get lost trying to find it if you are not familiar with the area
A great way to spend a special night or weekend
by somerhileman
My husband and I had a great stay at the Salish. We were impressed with the rooms, the service, the views and we had a wonderful breakfast at the Dining Room. We only wished we had more time. I would check in right at 4 PM in order to spend as much time enjoying the room, grounds and the spa. We had dessert and drinks in the Attic Bar and it was also very good. I can't think of a single complaint to comment on!
- Pros: Great location, awesome views, great rooms, personal service
- Cons: Not enough time to do everything!
Great place for a quick weekend away from Seattle

My partner and I just did a weekend trip hear to relax and refresh after the seattle winter blues. It was an awesome expirience, and the spa was wonderful. We refreshed there and camped out in our amazing room to catch up on rest also. All in all a great time.
So romantic! Best 2-person jacuzzi in room!

The place is so romantic and everyone is so helpful. The whole experience is awesome. I had wine waiting in the room when i got there, flower petals on the bed after I came back from dinner. Anything you need, they will get for you. Service is great and the place is so clean. The tub is for two people, and they have cool lights and nice jets to relax away stress. I probably had 3-4 baths a day just because it was so relaxing. You can also take a short hike down to the bottom of snoqualmie falls and back up to the hotel. It's a little expensive, but totally worth it!
- Pros: jacuzzi tub, great service, massage/spa is great, free wireless internet.
Competely full of themselves

Full of themselves
Dining room for dinner was as expected for this price point but not so grand as to allow them the pretension they indulge in. Room was also adequate, but nothing special for the price point.
Customer service at the front desk is lacking. We were not told at checkin that we should reserve a time for breakfast. When we tried to get in for breakfast the next seating available was 90 minutes from the current time. The front desk offered "lunch" upstairs but would not do further. After dropping $600 for dinner and lodging I would have expected more in compensation for their error. Will not be returning. The training level of their front desk staff is not up to standard. Will definitely not be recommending to friends and associates.
- Cons: poor customer service
Heaven
by kee22
I had a pretty good experience at the Salish lodge. Our room was beautiful and welcoming. I absolutely loved the jacuzzi tub. The view from our room was breathtaking. The spa was excellent. I had the heated rock massage...I was in heaven!! It was expensive, but worth it. I felt so good afterwards.
- Pros: Wonderful spa, beautiful room and view
- Cons: expensive
A relaxing getaway
by lulubella
As and end to a hard week of work, I treated myself to a hot stone massage on a Friday afternoon and immediately felt relaxed and refreshed. The waiting room had a selection of exotic teas and elxiyrs. If you arrive early you can soak in the baths before your massage.
- Pros: ambiance, location
