S-Kelly guided me just right for what I wanted to eat. Everything was perfect.
Clubby corporate restaurant draws seafood lovers with fresh daily catches and posh atmosphere.

In Short
Upscale and sophisticated, this chain features art deco-inspired trappings such as dark wood, shiny brass and beveled glass. Servers clad in black and white weave through cocktailing couples and businessmen at the bar. The classic American, seasonally inspired seafood menu changes daily; specialties include starters of Dungeness crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, plus entrees like cedar plank-roasted salmon, sauteed lobster with scallops and rock shrimp, and seared yellowfin tuna with wasabi, soy and ginger.
one of the BEST HAPPY HOUR!!!
by aznlovenecstasy at Citysearch
i don' t get why people don't like mccormick's happy hour. how can you beat $2, $4 and $5 items... i would have to say the burger is the best. and they even have desserts for $4. I usually just get a coke (need to get a drink to get the happy hour price) cuz it cuts the cost down (no happy hour drink specials, but i just want the food anyways) and they always change their menu every once in a while, i luv the fresh oysters(when its in season) or the halibut collar. yum...so good
- Pros: Happy Hour Prices
- Cons: No drink specials
terrific service, great food

Well, the rants must have had an effect! Even with a few negative reviews, I made reservations here for my husband and I for dinner before an event at Benaroya. Even though we were a half hour late (traffic and rain), and it was only an hour before the event, we were seated right away and our waiter brought drinks, salad, and entree, even dessert, promptly. He was professional, courteous, and made helpful recommendations. A manager stopped by our table to ask about our meal. The dinner was very good, the martinis were icy cold, and the service was the old-fashioned, professional kind that you only see at the very best restaurants. It's not trendy, and the beautiful people don't hang out here, but you really can't go wrong for a lovely meal and great service.
- Pros: service, valet parking, classic cocktails, good seafood
- Cons: ambience is businesslike, dark
Private Dining Party a Hit
by katidid95 at Citysearch
I recently reserved the private dining room for my husband's 50th birthday. We had a party of 16 mostly family and a few close friends. Eric, the General Manager, helped me set up the menu in advance and made wonderful recommendations that allowed choices for salads and entrees. Before my husband and I arrived for the "surprise", the staff took care of my guests and did everything they could to make sure our group was ready. The food was wonderful and our wait staff was attentive, but not intrusive. I couldn't have been happier and everyone in our party enjoyed the food and the whole evening!
- Pros: Good Service, Good Food
Definitely not recommend

I went to McCormick & Schmick's yesterday and I have to say that I am completely dissatisfied. For a $100 dinner for two I did not expect the waiter showing up for 2 seconds at a time. The waiter literally walked by our table a total of 4 times during our 3 course dinner and stopped to see how we were doing just once. The lady who was supposed to refill our waters almost knocked my head off with the tin water container. The food was just OK. Even after I asked for waiters recommendations my fish was breaded and greasy.
VERY disappointing!

One of my girlfriends and I went here to treat ourselves to a nice evening out - splurge a bit. It's a good thing that's what we had in mind, because not only were the portions paltry, the service was ridiculous. It's not M&S's fault that we were seated behind a bunch of turtleneck-and-sweatshirt-set - wearing tourists from Wisconsin who insisted upon snapping pictures every five minutes. It IS their fault that our (reserved) table wasn't ready when we arrived (on time, thanks). We had appetizers, entrees (and then oysters, because the portions were, as previously stated, virtually anemic), and we waited (seriously) at least HALF AN HOUR before getting each thing. Our server was sweet as pie, but who is running this place?! I promise - for those prices and that experience, we won't be returning.
- Pros: Nice server, good oysters
- Cons: , mediocre food, strange clientele
A Return to Excellence
by shanpayne at Citysearch
I had not been to M&S for several years. My last experience was not bad, but not outstanding. On a recent Friday night, I wandered in with a group of colleagues from out-of-town, looking for somewhere to eat a Northwest-flavored meal without a reservation. Despite being full, the very friendly and accommodating hostess spoke to the manager and the staff quickly set up the private dining room to accomodate us. The service and food were both top-notch, and our group had a wonderful time. We were treated as if we were VIPs, and we noticed that others in the restaurant also seemed to be having a great time and enjoying their experience. The restaurant even split a meal for two of us, without charging extra. McCormick & Schmick's is a great value and a great time. I'll be returning much sooner this time!!
- Pros: Friendly Service, Knowledgable Service, Great Food
Happy Hour Hype
by derekmcgarry at Citysearch
Warning...when visiting McCormick's for happy hour, don't expect any drink specials. They don't offer any. How they continue to receive hype about their "Best Happy Hour" seems to be a joke as far as I'm concerned. They should win the award for "Best Burger for under $2". That is pretty much the only thing their so-called happy hour has going for it. The service sucks in the bar. Every time I go for happy hour, they make me feel like I'm cheap and trying to take advantage of them. My advice is this: Be cheap and take advantage of them by ordering the Burger and a Beer, then leave.
- Pros: Burger
- Cons: , Attitude, Happy Hour
2nd Chance & still can't get it right
by redi at Citysearch
I am firm believer in giving someone a second chance. After a highly disappointing dinner, I phoned the manager to tell him of our experience. We were seated an hour late for our reservations, bread was never delivered to our table, my fish was room temperature, my husband's steak was marginal at best and to top it off, we had a "lovely" table right next to the kitchen where you could see the overflowing garbage cans and disgusting floor littered with kale and other food scraps. The manager said what any good customer-driven company should have said "we're sorry and we want to make it right for your next visit". Unfortunately for them, it is now going on 4 weeks since that phone call and I have not heard a word from them. They have blown their 2nd chance to make me a happy customer.
- Pros: Not much
- Cons: , Late Seating
