The service ain't what it used to be. For example, I left a purse to be repaired January 1. The salesperson stated that it would take about a month for repair. No problem. It is April, and the purse has still not been repaired!!!! If the salespeople would have told me that, at least I could've taken it somewhere else! Also, the ladies in Studio 121 are unprofessional--a couple of them argued over whether or not "I was their customer" (presumably to argue over the commission), in front of me! Completely unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth. I complained to customer service, but this has happened in several other departments over the last couple of years (men's, fragrance).

Pros: Downtown location is convenient for workday shoppers

Cons: Service is horrible!

Don't get me wrong, I love Nordstrom, which is why it almost pains me to have had such a bad experience with their Fine Jewelry department. It is NOT the normal Nordstrom experience. They have high mark ups, they don't negotiate under any circumstances, and their service level is poor. I ended up making a recent purchase of Kwiat earrings at Alvin Goldfarb (a great store!) instead and it was a night and day difference. Maybe it's better to purchase a high end item like fine jewelry from someone who specializes in it? Shoes at Nordy’s, yes, diamonds, a definite no.

I used to buy all of my clothes at Nordy's. Nowadays I usually stick to getting my casual wear & shoes there. While the sales staff is always willing to help, I have found the best customer service is in the shoe shine department. It's a real treat to walk out with shoes shining like new. I now buy custom dress clothing from myhaberdasher. com but will continue to get weekend wear and the occasional "emergency" item from Nordstrom's.

Pros: Helpful sales staff & valet parking w/the option of a detail in Seattle

Cons: Off the shelf clothing doesn't fit as well as custom

This is by far my favorite department store. The shoe department never fails to impress and I love that the departments don't try to simplify the myriad of body types down to a few labels such as "petite", "junior", "plus size", etc.

While shopping around for a pair of shoes, I found a pair that was slightly less expensive at another store, however I really wanted to purchase the pair at Nordstrom knowing that their return policy is unmatched. I mentioned the price difference to the Nordstrom sales-person and she informed me that Nordstrom allways matches any price at any competitor so long as the item is exactly the same. This was a great! I wasn't extremely surprised given their customer service but I didn't think they would match any price on top of everything else they have to offer. They've won me over!

If it isn't a size 6 or under forget it. I've seen better looking clothing in WalMart!

Pros: overpriced, too trendy

Cons: nicely decorated

nordstroms is not a good place to shop! they are always out of the shoes you want and never have any good clothes. Also they have disgustingly dirty bathrooms that never have toilet paper, soap, or even poaper towels in them. MY suggestion is to not shop at Nordstroms (go to Barney's Newyork)!

Pros: cheap, good parking, good service

Cons: ugly clothing, never has anything, nasty bathrooms

Nordstrom is a great store, don't get me wrong. But it can tend to have alittle "older" fashions, like for my mom in her forties. I am a teenager at age 13, and they normally don't have anything for my age, and if they do, its 100$!

Pros: Good quality clothes, Great service, Fun accesories

Cons: HIGH prices, Older clothing, alot of walking! :)

I grew up shopping at Nordstrom's (in Washington) my whole life...which was fantastic!! Nordstrom's is the best in service, variety, style, availability, and reasonable pricing!! I never realized how spoiled I was...but after living in Las Vegas, NV (where the nearest Nordy's is CA) for the last 10 years, I felt the void! :-) Until recently...that is...Las Vegas now has an amazing Nordstrom's at the Fashion Show Mall. Yippee!!! I can shop at Nordy's again!!

Pros: Customer Service, Dependability, Quality

Cons: Sometimes pricy, Not enough stores, N/A
