Great after work hangout
by soundersfan
I love this restaurant and have been a number of times. The beer is above average and the food has been great most times that we have come. The only drawback that it has is the location. It is always such a pain to get down to the market and find parking but when you do this is a great reward. Just remember to ask for the number for the restrooms, I guess that they try to keep it for patrons only but I always forget the number on the way after a few beers.
- Pros: The beer choices and chowder
- Cons: location
Great Atmosphere - Poor Food
by FusmanFamily
We went on a busy Saturday afternoon. After waiting 15 minutes to be seated, we were unfortunately served poor quality food to our child. My son is 5 years old. He ate the chicken tenders and french fries. Within an hour he was sick. After a doctor's appointment, we were told he had bacterial f.p. from eating here. Poor business to serve bad food to kids! Will not be return customers.
- Pros: Fun Atmosphere
- Cons: Poor Food
Don't Eat Here if you have a family!
by FamilyDining
Took a group of friends visiting from D.C. Thought this would be a great way to show them Seattle.
The automatic gratuity for a 'large group' should have tipped us off because we were only 8 people. 4 of which were little kids.
Once ordering food, it was VERY hard to get our waitress to bring anything extra (like a refill of water while choking on spicey dinner).
The food was about a 3 star, out of 10. Most of our dishes were way over priced, and 2 dishes came out less then satisfactory. Salmon was dry, rice was under-cooked, fries were soggy.
Not to mention....how does a kid-sized mac n' cheese cost $14.95?
The highlight? Mini Doughnuts afterwards. They are at the top of the stairs on the street.
- Pros: Great Location, Cool decore
- Cons: Everything Else
Convenient and tasty

We were in Pike's Place Market as tourists and were hungry for cooked seafood after seeing all the vendors. A gentleman in one of the shops suggested the Pub for fish/chips. We were told a 15-20 minute-wait, but it was less than 10. We had the Halibut and chips, which was delicious and a huge portion. I shared w/my son and the waitress offered to order a "shared-plate" for an extra $1 with another piece of fish. I declined and found the regular order was enough for both of us! My brother had a plate to himself and almost couldn't finish it. The tartar sauce was great, very mild, so you could still taste the halibut. The Iced-tea was great with a hint of passion-fruit or something, yummy, and refreshing! Other than her offer to help our order, our waitress was adequate, not very friendly, and we had to ask for more of anything we needed, such as ice-tea, coke, napkins, and glad we were next to the station or it may have been hard to track her down. We'll be talking about that halibut for a while, yummmmmmmm!
- Pros: the halibut, great portion size, great iced-tea
- Cons: waitress could have been more friendly and available
The changes are great!
by JohnThorton
The changes at the Pub over the last year have been great! The beer is fantastic and always a good reason to stop in. With the changes it just got better, better service, better food, cleaner. They totaly redid the back little bar area into a fun place to hang out with groups. SO much better than the dark and dirty bar that it was before. My firends and I have made the back bar area into our Friday happy spot. $5 for some huge nachos!
If you love beer and you havent been to the pub in awhile, you have to go.
- Pros: Best Beer in the City
- Cons: Have to wait to get into the dinning for on the weekends.
Tourist-heavy bar also impresses locals with fine, market-brewed ales.

The Scene
The Pike puts tradition on display with brewing equipment that winds through the open-air space and a Museum Brewery that highlights the history of beer. Patrons can sample distinctive Northwestern ales such as the scotch kilt lifter, the creamy porter and the roasted stout. The bar also offers several guest drafts and carries an impressive range of bottled beers. When it comes to food, the Pike sticks to tried and true pub grub, with many offerings made fresh from Pike Market ingredients.
Fun hang out

Pretty much your typical pub. Good location. Great place for a large group to watch a game or celebrate an event.
- Pros: good price, spacious
Now, THIS is the way to do a Brewpub!
by weatherboy
I don't know much about the food. I didn't see anything that truly jumped out at me on the menu and I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered the hummus with pita and it did the job. I wasn't there to eat though, I was there for the beer! As I always do when I go to a new brewery, I started off with the sampler. I was so impressed with the beers that they offer! I liked many of them, and that's not too common for me. (I'm pretty picky!) Not only that, but they also have an EXTENSIVE list of other beers available from all over the world. This place gives you two menus when you sit down. One menu is for food and the other is for drinks. On the drink menu one side is dedicated only to their beer selection, amazing. The Pike is probably one of the best brewpubs I've ever been to, if not THE best. The layout of the place is nice, like other people have noted, but the bar outside of the game room is pretty small. I didn't find an open seat when I went in the early afternoon. But, there's lots of space throughout the joint, so no worries. There's a second bar in the game room, but that room is kinda dark and the bar itself wasn't very well lit. Aside from needing better seating at the bar, The Pike is an awesome brewpub and worth a trip downtown to check out. I'll be going back again for their beer next time I find myself in Seattle!
- Pros: Great Beer, Great Selection, Plenty of room
- Cons: Parking is a pain, Seating at the bar could be improved
Best Place to Host a Casual Event!
by tamalie_
I recently hosted a birthday party for about 50 people at the Pike and it was so much fun. There is a large area on the top level of the restaurant that easily accomodates a group. With the vast amount of food we ate and numbers of pitchers of beer we ordered - I was shocked at how low the bill was. Our server was friendly and amazingly efficient and our guests all enjoyed the food and beer (especially the kiltlifter). There's even a TV and VCR to show embarassing videos of the birthday boy or girl! Because the group area is on the restaurant side, some guests were able to bring their children. When the Pike closed at midnight, the rest of us headed out to the clubs. A truly great evening - and best of all - I didn't have to clean up the next day. Thanks PIKE!!!!
- Pros: Food, Service, Beer
- Cons: Parking
Great for hanging with friends!
by eastlakegirl
I'm not always a beer girl, but I love trying all of the beers they have at Pike Pub! Tasty! It's a great place if you want to be able to hear yourself think and be able to chat with friends over a fun game of pool! And on top of it all, it's not soooo crowded that you can't get a table and sit around. Great place to bring the posse!
- Pros: good value, not crowded, great beer
- Cons: no parking, slow service
