Highest Quality Dairy Products in all of the Market

by LandBase

If you want to get the best eggs, milk, and yogurt available go to Nancy's Creamery.

Local raw cow and goat milk, local organic eggs, and tubs of Nancy's Organic Yogurt (different Nancy) are my favorites. I also pick up the occaisional Kombucha drink and chocolate bar. She has a great vibe going on, sometimes her dog is there being about as relaxed and friendly as a dog can be.

Her staff of cute hipster boys are always fun to chat with. But seriously, getting to know the merchants you buy from and knowing that your dollars are supporting the greater Washington community makes this place one of my favorite stops on my Pike Place Market grocery route.

  • Pros: good food, good people, supporting local economy
  • Cons: none whatsoever

Buy udder cream, cow socks and other cow gifts at this specialty dairy shop, in addition to traditional dairy products.

The Scene
Yes, Nancy Nipples is her real name, and she's sold dairy products at the market since 1978. You can't miss the black and white, bovine-decorated store. It began as an outlet for local farmers to sell their products and Nancy still contracts with local farmers and independent butter makers. This is one of the few downtown sources of soy and tofu, vegan and organic products.

The Goods
The most popular items at the Creamery include goose, turkey, duck, quail and aracauna chicken eggs, tofu hotdogs, strawberry milk, Hemp Plus toaster waffles and cow socks that look like udders. Go all out for a bottle of "Mooood Enhancer," which is for "cowlick, shortness of moolah, moooodiness, and the heartbreak of spilt milk," and requires the person to "ruminate slowly and thoroughly" and "stare impassively." Prices range from 15 cents for a pat of butter to $29 for a cow gift, with the average sale being $5.
