Food Born Illness

by bchoong

My boyfriend and I had the unfortunate experience of dining at The Georgian the night before Thanksgiving. Instead of spending Thanksgiving day with friends and family, the day was spent throwing up from 3 am to 5 pm. This not only ruined our Thanksgiving plans, but also the next 4 days as we tried to recover. It took 5 calls to various managers before I heard a response to my complaint. Needless to say, I will never dine at The Georgian again.

  • Cons: Lack of response when reported a serious problem.

Oh. My. God. Absolutely dazzling!

by randy2300

We've dined at the Georgian before and liked it. This was our first trip since the menu revamp and the introduction of the seven-course tasting menu, which we chose. First, let me say, I love tasting menus and have enjoyed them at some of the best restaurants in the country -- Per Se, Gary Danko, and even the Herbfarm here in Seattle. This way my first experience of every course being absolutely PERFECT. Each bite was absolutely bursting with flavor and done to absolute perfection. With every course, my dining companion looked at each other with wonderment. There wasn't a weak dish in the bunch. And the portion size was perfect. We left filled complete, but not stuffed (unlike the Herbfarm, where I left still hungry). And there quite generous with the wine pairings -- we rarely finished a glass. And, it's cheaper than most tasting menus too! What more can I say? It was simply the best meal I've even had in my life.

  • Pros: perfect food, glorious ambiance

Overrated

by raindan

Little imagination for this class of dinning. Dishes are either overpowering or tasteless. The side dishes are the mostly the same for all meals. Best part of dinning is the platting. Seattle has much better choices.

Best dessert and oustanding service

by wuki3

The girls and I went here for a bridal shower dinner. The food here was excellent!!!Everything was tasty from the appetizers to desserts. I'll definitely come back for their Black and White Chocolate Souffle, very delicious and generous in size. Two thumbs up for the presentation and oustanding service. Thoroughly the girls and I enjoyed our night at The Georgian.

Way overrated

by ko12

I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. I ordered the scallops and they looked like growth hormones were injected into them--i am not one to waste food but i just couldn't finish it. My friend ordered the fish and while it was soft, it tasted like burnt plastic. We ordered 2 souffles and one tasted like warmed up fruit loops cereal. The service was great as i would expect from a place like this but it isn't enough for me to go back. The ambience is very romantic and has a titanic feeling to it.

Best for high tea or dessert

by alisonkramer

This place is fancy-shmancy, but more in the traditional style than the urban-trendy one. I don't think the dinner cuisine lives up to its ambiance (or is worth the high prices) - but afternoon tea and late night dessert are a good way to soak up the vibe without breaking the vault.

Refined hotel dining ideal for celebrations and special occasions.

by Contributor

The Scene
Since 1924, this elegant restaurant in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel has provided a grand setting for memorable dinners. Its opulent decor and four-star service create a distinctly posh, regal atmosphere. The crowd includes locals and big-business types hoping to impress their clients. Hotel visitors round out the scene in the sophisticated terrace bar and luxurious dining room.

The Food
Seasonal menus feature some items that rate low in fat and calories, such as smoked salmon carpaccio with beluga caviar relish and seared scallops with melted baby leeks and truffle dressing. Mostly, though, decadence holds sway. Among the appetizers: lobster and Dungeness crab cocktail with heirloom tomatoes, seared duck liver, caramelized cauliflower soup, and butter-boiled spot prawn. Entrees include rack of lamb, roasted sea bass, sauteed scallops, and roasted venison loin. Among the fine showy desserts, the Grand Marnier souffle stands out.

'Classic, elegant and beautiful' This place will arouse your 5 senses.

Truly an experience. You have to savor this dining experience yourself to understand. Love the food at the Rover's. However, for half the price, you are able to dine inside a gorgeous and elegant dining room, decorated in a warm yet comfortable settings (instead of some houses). Of course, the food is prepared by a notable award winning chef and delivered to your table with an oustanding service. Love Love Love this place a lot that I've dined at The Georgian for about twenty times these past six months alone and never once been disappointed.

When the evening is over, your waiter would discreetly contact the valet service to get the car ready and parked outside.

My favorites: Tasting Menu or Lobster with Foie Gras.

I looked shabby and was treated royally.

by cc_artist

I dined alone, as usual, was dressed in un-trendy casual, yet the hostess seated me promptly and well. The steak, cooked perfectly medium-rare, with au jus divine was accompanied by perfectly al dente asparagus and haricort verte. I was treated royally by Joaquin, the waiter, who found a French red wine for me that was not on the luncheon menu, and Sadie Rose the hostess who is gracious well beyond her years. I left the restaurant considerably happier than when I arrived. I am a Seattleite. I will be returning often. --Siena.
