Seven-flavored beef!!!

WG's seven-flavored beef is delicious. I normally go for lunch, and even though they are busy, the service is always very good. The decor is nice as well. I haven't had the opportunity to go to their sister business, The Triple Door. However, I've heard wonderful things about it. So, I will be checking it out.

I've gone to Wild Ginger for years, and the quality of the food is still consistently delicious. My favorites and the seven flavored beef and the duck, which comes with little steamed buns and chutney to make little sandwiches. They also have a great group room upstairs for larger groups, where we have had several business lunches for about 30 people.

A great place for a work lunch. There is something on the menu for everyone. For a light healthy lunch, the green papaya salad with chicken is tops!

This use to be a special place - back in 2004. However, the quality of the food has really declined. With so many restaurants doing their own version of eclectic Thai - Wild Ginger really needs to step it up a notch to regain the reputation they once held. As a side note, but equally important, the staff needs to lose the attitude - they are not working at a five-star restaurant. Concentrate on good service and the patrons will reward you...Act like you are better than the patron and make snide remarks behind their backs, and you will be rewarded accordingly. Lose the attitude, plain and simple.
- Pros: Perfect for the snob conniseur looking for only atmosphere.

The settng and the service was great but the food was less than expected. We tried four items and only the Vietnamese crab and shrimp salad was worth the money. Portions are small and everything is over-priced. The food was mundane and really, my mom could make the items easily at home. My two friends that I went with agreed that we should've gone to Honeycourt in Chinatown instead.
- Pros: Comfy seats, good service
- Cons: Over-priced, mundane food

Wild Ginger (Seattle): Don't waste your time and money. Extremely poor food quality. Great ambiance. Somewhat polite staff. Great-looking menu. No Thai Tea. My hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant at home is five times superior. Overpriced for the great ambiance. It is perhaps the worst thai food I've tasted anywhere in the world.
Fantastic food, service could be better....

This is my FAVORITE Thai/ Asian restraurant in the greater Seattle area. I've dined here at least 15 times, willing to battle traffic and pay for parking.
The service is cold at times and does not go out of their way to accomedate.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: so so service at times

We had a large dinner for my work here in the private rooms. Every single dish I tried on our group dining menu was great. The service was fantastic. I also love the decor and bar in this restaurant. Good service and not too pushy...they are well trained. A little on the expensive side for Thai, but worth it for the quality of food. I have been to Thailand and this is on par with food I had there! I have also heard good things about their happy hour. Lots of parking nearby as well.
- Pros: Great authentic Thai food, good service
- Cons: A little crowded and loud on the weekends

Unless you look like Donald Trump and have his money, this is not the place for you! Unless you are dressed to the nines you won't get seated even with a reservation which they claimed we never made! The food was good but too pricey! Parking in downtown Seattle is a nightmare so avoid if possible!!!!!!!!!

After making dinner reservations two weeks ago for New Year's eve, my husband and I dressed up for a celebratory evening out and were looking forward to the fantastic Asian cuisine for which the Wild Ginger is known. We arrived only to find that the reservation I made somehow didn't make it into the system. We were told to wait in the bar while they found us a table. After twenty minutes at the bar, during which an order for drinks and appetizers was taken but didn't show up, we were shown to the worst table in the house (an overly brightly lit table on the second level by the servers' staging area, which was subject to the cold drafts caused by people constantly opening the main door). Somehow, the order we placed at the bar for appetizers and drinks was also lost, so a second server asked us for our order again. When a better table opened up, I asked to be moved to that table. During the process of moving us to our third location, our appetizer and drink order was somehow lost again, so we placed the order a third time. The main server we had for the rest of the evening was apologetic and kind, but frankly, they should have at least provided us with appetizers or perhaps one of the main courses on the house, after such an unpleasant beginning that almost ruined the rest of the evening. Food-wise, the restaurant is stellar. We ordered the pheasant's chicken satay and potstickers for appetizers, and then moved on to the duck (a house specialty, for which the restaurant is known) and tuna manada for the main course. The duck was tender, succulent, and well-complemented with an outstanding plum sauce. My husband raved about the tuna manada preparation, featuring sashimi-grade seared ahi tuna.
All in all, the food was worth the wait, but frankly, I'm not eager to go again for an expensive dinner out. For a $200+ special evening out, I expected the service to be equal to the food. That it wasn't made the restaurant an overrated disappointment for New Year's eve.
