The last I heard, the jellyfish and even Mr. Puffer Fish had packed their trunks and headed south to live in a real aquarium. I have lived in Seattle my whole life, but I can say for sure, this aquarium has to be our biggest embarrassment of all. There isn't anything of substance here to look at. It's small, boring, and banal. Go up to Canada's Stanley Park and see their aquarium or down to SF's Golden Gate Park's aquarium. Seattle's aquarium is a big MISNOMER.

Pros: None

Cons: The Size of it All or Lack of

We have visited the Seattle Aquarium a few times and have enjoyed every visit. The animals/sea life look healthy and there are some wonderful attractions for kids of all ages. My kids favorite things to do are touch the starfish, sea cucumbers and other sea creatures. They have great art and fun decor around the building as well. There are plenty of benches and game areas for smaller kids to rest. It is a very family friendly atmosphere and educational for the kids. A++++++

Pros: Friendly staff, great varirty of sea life, lots to explore

Cons: You have to pay for parking downtown

Well, I've seen greater aquariums, and this is NOTHING huge compared to 'Sea World" but it gives you something to do. You're allowed to touch Star fishes and a few other things as you enter, and you get to take a look at a BUNCH of fish. I'd say over anything, the Aquarium has more fish for you to see than anything else. My friends and I got done looking through everything in less than an hour (roughly 40 minutes) so you get the idea. If you're lookin for something GREAT to do in seattle, this isn't one of the 'top 5' but I'd say that it does kill time, and it's GREAT for kids! Then again for $9.75 I guess you can't expect much!

Pros: great for kids

Yes, there are better aquariums out there but for $9.75, this one is ok. It wasn't seaworld but they didn't charge seaworld prices either. I didn't mind spending my $9.75 just so they would have the money to upkeep the place and feed the fish/animals. I would suggest checking it out. I felt that $9.75 here was more worth it than the $12 they charge to ride the elevator at the Space Needle.

Pros: inexpensive, friendly staff

We got the combo ticket for the Mount St. Helen's Imax show and the aquarium. For the amount of money we spent, it was a huge disappointment. I have seen better documentaries on a 13 inch television about the volcano on PBS and the aquarium was extremely small considering Seattle's location. I would expect to see an aquarium that size somewhere in the middle of the US not surrounded by an ocean. Even my two kids were bored.

Pros: Location

Cons: Price, Value

The Seattle Aquarium was one of the first places I visited when I moved here. I had a blast. It may not be as big as other aquariums around the country, but it's still a bigger collection of sea creatures than I had ever seen in one place.

Pros: the octopus, the otters, the seahorses

Cons: too small
