Very tasty

by Jee

Just thought I would add a recent review of Byzantion as my experience was not like those of earlier reviewers. Our food was very good - excellent meat and bread, fresh vegetables. Maybe it's under new management? We found it while looking for a more down-market gyro place, and while it's pricier and fancier than that, we stayed and had a great meal. Recommended if you like authentic, well-prepared Greek food.

Not bad at all

by lunen

I think this is pretty decent Greek food, for the price. Pretty simple, but tasty. I would stick to the basics, the Gyro was excellent.

Terrible Food

by gve

I have never written a review on CitySearch before but felt compelled to write a review for this restaurant because the food is so bad. My husband and I went to Byzantion Restaurant because we love Greek food. I wish I had read the other comments on CitySearch and avoided this place. The hummos and mousaka were bland and runny. The vegetables served with our entrees were soggy and old (reminded me of frozen vegetables past their prime). The entrees were passable but nothing special. I would not return to Byzantion even if I had a gift certificate. Karam's on 15th has much better food - there is no comparision. I left Byzantion worried that I would get sick from the meal I had just eaten and mad that I had spent almost $80 for the experience.

  • Pros: located on Broadway
  • Cons: expensive for lousy food

Good Food, Great Prices!

by singto

Great atmosphere and wonderful food at a very affordable price, I recommend their Lamb Souvlaki, very tender and comes with some yummy sides. The Kalamarikia use to be a standout, but they've changed to the ring shape which has less taste. Overall, $30 is what we usually end up spending and its worth it because the food is satisfying.

  • Pros: Affordable, Variety, & Atmosphere

Worst Food Ive Had in Seattle

by dickknows

The food was absolutely awful. Everything tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp and much of it was a bland looking mushy mess. The Moussaka was the only "okay" dish -- but it came with a pile of mushy yellow rice that tasted old and like cooked green peppers. And it didnt even go with moussaka! The veggies on the side were inedible and soggy. The Greek salad was all shredded lettuce -- which is not a Greek salad! Its supposed to be lettuce-free -- with chunks of cucumbers, tomatoes and olives. The hummus was flavorless. The pita and the sweet waitress were the only two good things.

  • Pros: Service
  • Cons: All the food

The Best, better then the rest!

by tommy_the_greek

A true dining experience with the aroma and ambience of the Greek Islands. The Service is prompt and the seating is cozy and romantic. Their is no better Greek food available anywhere unless you travel to the old country. The owner came to greet us all three times we ate their to check to see if all was well and believe me, it was awesome! From the gourmet greek salmon dishes to the all hand made pyhillo pastry deserts and entree's. The Byzantion features a huge wine list of over 25 types of greek favorites to compliment all dishes. Pricing is shockingly affordable! A must to go at least once, I assure you, you will be back! Make sure to try the Gallaktoboutiko, a pyhillo wrapped greek pastry filled with homemade custard with a hint of orange, MMMMMM

You get it all here! My Highest recommendation

Great Place

by lovable_leo79

I highly recommend this restaurant. I disagree entirely with the editors comments. I have been there 3 times in the last few months and have found the customer service to be great! And the food is really good. My favorite part is the really big portions and cheap prices. My last visit I got the gyro, which is'nt typically my favorite.... it was sooooo good!
