New owners as of December 2008

by Marleah

We have made many improvements since taking over the Eastlake Romios in December of 2008. We don't want to review ourselves-so please come see for yourself!

A mom-and-pop pizza place that's generous with the toppings.

by Contributor

In Short
Pies sport a medium-thick crust, maxed out with toppings. Romio's offers several interesting combinations, including the G.A.S.P. variety: garlic, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto. Pastas are of both Greek and Italian varieties, while salads include black olives, tomatoes and a handful of mozzarella cheese.

Delivery

This is my favorite "splurge" pizza in the city. Serious PIe - Pagliacci all good - this is my favorite in terms of just cheesy, meaty and tasty. The crust is buttery. Best tasting "splurge" pizza in the city

  • Pros: some of the best splurge pizza in the city

Romeo, quit reviewing yourself and start making a better pizza!

by yaright

I was amazed how wonderful Romio's reviews were for a conveyor belt oven cooked greasy pie that screams Pizza Hut! Then I clicked onto every little 5 star reviewer profile and found that these glowing raves came from people (or a single person) who never reviewed any other restaurant.

Romeo, quit reviewing yourself and start making a better pizza! At least try to sound like different people! Or even write something more than a promo piece of this weeks special. Make it sound like a food critique for goodness sake!

  • Pros: Creative writing
  • Cons: The food

Don't waste your time and money

by eastlake_gal

I called Romio's to find out about their hours, my conversation went something like this:

Waitress at Romios: "Thank you for calling Eastlake Romio's How can I help you?"

Me: "Hello yes I was just wondering...."

Waitress interrupting me: "stop calling and wasting my time!"

As the phone clicked I was enraged. I called back and similar things happened and then she called me back and told me to stop calling and hanging up-- Apparently they were having phone problems in their restaurant and treated me rudely because of it (yes I tried a different phone line to give them the benefit of the doubt). I went in to talk to them and try to patch it over and they argued with me (three staff members) and offered few apologies and blamed me for getting mad-- we left, I heard their food was second rate to begin with. In addition Romio's is not a place that should have live music, the Jazz musicians themselves may not have sucked, but in that small, dingy restaurant the sound was that of an elementary jazz band's practice.

Two thumbs down!!-- Go to one of the other fine Eastlake establishments including Eastlake Grill, Pazzo's, I would even go to Red Robin over Romio's.

If you want cold pizza. Surly and inattentive service and a generally bad time. This is your place.

by gemd

Went with friends, 8 of us 3 kids. Made reservations. Quarter filled when we got there. Long time waiting waitress came. Were we ready to order. Asked questions. Said if we couldn't make up our mind she'd come back. Out of beer we wanted. Said if we couldn't decide from others they had she'd come back whe we were ready already 20 minutes, kids upset. Asked for bread which she brought. Said she was sorry she'd forgot our orders: hadn't taken them. Ordered. Brought half order of wings, we'd ordered full. Forgot the antipasti, said I'd added that at the end and it wasn't in the computer but if I really wanted it she could enter it. Beer came said it was on her. (She charged us anyway.) 40 minutes, pizza came cold. Many other couples in, ordered, ate and out. Spaghetti for kids came. Sh asked them to reach over the table to get it, before their mom could even get there. Near accident. 7 year olds can't handle plates. Our fault of course. Just like ordering antipasti after we ordered everything else. Finished, another 20 minutes, no bill. Bill finally comes. Of course the beer "on her" for the "mix-up" is on the bill. Also a "gratuity". I left zero. Wanted to speak to manager. Wife said "Let's just never come back". We won't. And I'll be telling this story for years. Called the manager: I'm reasonably sure they put the girl who served us on.

  • Pros: Cheap.
  • Cons: Surly indifferent service. Cold food. Incomplete orders.

The best fettuccini I have ever tasted

by kee22

We went here for an early dinner. It's a small place but very nice and welcoming. I had the baked fettuccini formaggi. It was soooo good!!!! I think having it baked definately made the fettuccini taste better. Overall, I think they have pretty good food...I was impressed.

  • Pros: Great food, good service
  • Cons: little expensive

Good crust, fast delivery, generous toppings. Mushroom and pepperoni is my favorite.

Not great pizza

by katieask

Pizza is about like Round Table, if you go for that sort of thing. This place is excellent, however, for the unavoidable, end-of-season sports team party. Plenty of tables, room and tolerance for a noisy crowd.

Italian Music.

by nadia

Great food!

They have Live Music every Thursday and Friday (for all ages). Open until 1am. Friendly service. Great place for family celebrations.
