A surprisingly quiet retreat on an amazingly busy street.

The Scene
Don't let the location alongside a busy road just a few blocks away from bustling Broadway deter you. There may be lots of traffic outside, but there's plenty of calm within this two-story Victorian-style B&B, especially in the spacious lower-level rooms.

The Details
Little touches make all the difference here: breakfast served on fine china and crystal (two courses include a fruit entree and main dish such as a frittata prepared by a retired professional chef), complimentary soda in the fridge, and a deck overlooking a garden with a swing. The seven beautifully appointed rooms are adorned with antique and reproduction furniture and hand-made soaps. All of it is close to the funky shops and cafes that have made Capitol Hill the Haight-Ashbury of Seattle. If you're not up for the frenetic pace of Broadway, check out the restaurants on the far mellower 15th Avenue.
