I was there a few weeks ago because I was visiting Seattle and had read the rave reviews this place had gotten. I have to say that the Midnight Cuban was the most phenomenal sandwich EVER! I was literally at a loss for words. The next time I go to Seattle, I will be there at least once a day! The guy taking the order was a little cocky but that awesome sandwich made me forget all about that (enough that I'd go back). There are only about 6 small tables in the restaurant so I wouldn't plan on eating there Iif there you're lucky you can maybe get a table) but you can always take it to go. If you are going to be anywhere near this place, you have to make sure that you go and get a Midnight Cuban!

Pros: Amazing Food

Cons: Small seating area

Listen, I have had great customer service at the food was marginal at best. Paseo's is simply the best food in town period! Listen if youwant to make an impression on a hot lady, go to Icon or some other trendy spot get her all tipsy on wine and drinks. But if you want some good food or a place to take out-of town friends on a casual Saturday you go to Paseo. enjoy an eccletic group of people, stand in line make good conversation and then prepare to enjoy an incredible sandwhich or meal. I would say yougotta have the garlic baguette thingy and onions and more onions. I havebeen a faithful customer since it first opened and youcould only get a half chicken with incredible black beans, a salad and corn that would make you eat the husk if possible. now the menu has grown...... a lot but if you are a first timer i say begin how paseo began with a half chicken. you will be back many many more times to enjoy the rest but start there! Oh and as far as customer service goes....... I don't care how you treat me just dont make me waste my money and time. I havenever regretted having to go get cash not once and everytime I go i leave satisfied. get the sticks out your butts and just let some thing slide. Have you seen how they work back there?

Pros: Taste, Value, Flare

Cons: might be too late for a half chicken

I have the same rave reviews of the sandwiches as everyone else. I drive way out of my way at least a few times a month for these delicious sandwiches. But... as others have pointed out, they really need to improve on customer service. I usually go for lunch because the few times I came there after 5p, they were out of bread. Not sure how you run out of bread when you sell sandwiches, and from reading other reviews, it seems this is the norm for this place. Seriously, how hard is it to order more bread. I would love for someone who works there to reply to all these postings on this issue. Lastly, I would say it's 50/50 on if the staff there is in a good mood and treats you decently or decides to be rude and chat away with other coworkers with the line out the door. I do have to sum up that the sandwiches are great or I wouldn't keep going back, but it would be nice to feel like they wanted customers as opposed being annoyed that you are there sometimes.

I did manage to get one sandwich the past 4 times I tried. It was wonderful and worth the long wait. But as a previous reviewer said, call ahead!

Pros: amazing sandwiches

Cons: LONG wait. the non-sandwich items are not as appealing

We arrived at Paseo shortly after it started snowing to find it so crowded that people were waiting outside in the snow for their food. After we ordered and started waiting ourselves, more and more people just kept filing in, and the prospect of a wait and nowhere to sit didn't discourage anyone. I can completely understand why. I am comfortable in saying that Paseo has the best sandwiches in the city. I will happily return and wait again just to keep experiencing them. The meat was cooked to perfection, the caramelized onions delicious. They had just the right amount of heat. One sandwich by itself was enough to satisfy, and for a very good price. The only real problem is if you want to dine in, you might have trouble getting a table. The restaurant is very small, with about enough room to sit less than a dozen people. It seemed like people tended to clear out as soon as they were done eating, so the people waiting could grab a place to sit by the time their food came out. But it would be better if you plan for take out. The staff were friendly and had a good attitude despite the crowds. The same could be said for the customers, which created a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Not recommended for people who don't like crowds, waiting, or messy food. For those of us who like fun and good food, trying Paseo is a must.

Pros: great food, ambience

Cons: crowded

I have been 3x in the last month, and each time they were out of sandwiches! Does this happen to others? I think the sandwiches are the best I have had, but it is maddening to drive there and have the sandwiches be unavailable. I recommend calling ahead.

Pros: Best sandwiches...

Cons: if you can get one

We were really excited to go and try their famous sandwiches. We got there at 5:30 and they were out of bread. Not happy. I tried their garlic prawn dinner and hubby tried pork dinner. His was awesome..mine okay but I will never get it again. I really dug the bean soup and salad was great. Filled up fast and everybody was disappointed about the bread situation. Will go back and try when they are able to make sandwiches. I am hopeful I will be able to give it 5 stars like everyone else.

Pros: service, pork

Cons: no bread

I adore Paseo. Fabulous Nosh! I even had them "cater" my Birthday in 2007. I have tried most everything on the menu, and my senses were delighted by it all. Yes the pork sadwich is amazing, but then so is everything else. The staff are pleasant, and efficient. The place is clean. The one major downer is that there really isn't much seating, and it's loud and cramped if you do decide to eat there. I suggest you take your food down to the park and eat it, or if it's inclement, go home and enjoy your pork sandwich with your libation of choice. The one minor downer is that they are closed Sunday and Monday and I am craving some right now!

Pros: Great food, walk up, service

Cons: no parking

I am from Iowa and am in town for the weekend. I found out about Pesao's via this Web site and was really glad I did! There are only about 4 tables for dining in however the service was really quick and the sandwich was one of the best I have probably had at only about 7 bucks. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Pros: Quick, Great Sandwiches, Cheap!

Cons: No parking, No seating

Paseo has something very special. Yes - you will have to wait in line, and yes - you'll have to bring cash, and yes - if you try to call ahead during their lunch rush you are likely to be put on hold or ignored. The problems some reviewers have with this place (itsthemirrors) are the product of a coddled comsumerist culture that is refreshingly absent from a place like Paseo. Paseo doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is, and it is an absolutely AMAZING sandwich shop. The Midnight Cuban Press sandwich is crave-worthy. I lived around the corner from a Cuban grocery and cafe in Chicago (La Unica) and their Sandwiches Cubanos were excellent, and certainly more authentic than Paseo, but put the two in front of me and I will go for the Paseo sandwich every time. A creative and flavorful interpretation of a classic with quality ingredients. They put a lot of care into crafting their food, and as far as I'm concerned they can operate however they choose. And for the record, I've never been treated poorly here - the service is secondary for sure, but that owes itself to the fact that there isn't a whole lot of time for chit-chat and unnecessary formalities when you've got a line out the door all day long. People like itsthemirrors who can't appreciate a good thing should just stay away - I'd venture to guess he's just the sort of customer they don't care to cater to anyway.

Pros: Excellent food, period

Cons: so good everyone wants one - so be ready to wait in line
