We already knew the food is bad and the atmosphere is tacky but the coupon got us! Buy-one-get-one-free can be irresistible. We should have resisted! The food was truly awful. There is nothing worth ordering on the menu. Picture the menu at IHOP, then triple the prices and you have the Rusty Pelican menu. As for the food, picture something you would get at IHOP, then take out all the years of market research and product development, leaving behind only cheap food and amateur cooks. The chicken was dry; the salads were bitter; the overcooked veggies were tasteless; the lasagna was a gooey mess. We didn't complain its low to complain when you plan to pay half price. Then the check came and the waitress informed us that they weren't taking coupons that day. Great. For the same 40 bucks we could have gone to a much nicer place.
