Good to see the store still there!
by Alswede at Citysearch
I visited this store frequently back in the late 80's when it first opened. Loved the concept then, loved the toys. Moved away in early 90s and just learned that it is still there! can't wait to visit again! Happy for the family that it worked out so well.
- Pros: User friendly
None better

Simply the best toy store I have ever been to. My boy loves just going there to hang out even if we don't buy anything. Great selection of good quality toys from all over the world. Also the place is low on the sort of high sheen, overly marketed, pieces of plastic that dominate the bigger chain stores.
- Pros: extremely diverse selection, good quality toys.
- Cons: ???
A rambling, homespun store with a non-violent philosophy that carries mostly kid-powered toys.

In Short
Hand painted recycled cardboard signs hang over well-stocked aisles, making toys and games easy to find. Therapist Adelia Rickert wanted healthier choices for children and founded the shop in 1988, which is now run by her brother, Allen, who neatly sums up their vision, "We're multi-cultural, feminist and low on electronics." For a varied ethnic selection, don't miss the life-size infant dolls and the beanbag cuddly babies in bright jumpsuits and caps.

At 27 years of age, I think that I enjoy this store more than any kid!
- Pros: plenty of parking, not crowded, reasonably priced
